Collins Construction Group Inc.

We had our bathroom redone by the Collins group. The good work consisted of drywall patching and baseboard application. The rest was of the work was a concern. After applying the floor tile crookedly, I was told that "It wasn't a mistake, it's just not how the customer wanted it." I had to argue for a while to get them to redo the floor which they did under my close supervision. They hung the door trim too far to the left, exposing the connection of the wall to the door jam which was brown and the trim was white. Dan finally came to see the work and proceeded, again, to tell me that this was a correct way to hang the trim. I found him to be righteous, overbearing, and not willing to admit wrongdoing. There were many other small annoyances. I would not hire them again for any work.

I have had other projects done throughout the years, but Collins Construction was by far the easiest to work with, most reliable, and did a great job cleaning up throughout and at the end of the project. Dan made some recommendations that really took what I was looking for to the next level without breaking the bank. I receive so many compliments on my updated kitchen. I would definitely choose Collins Construction for additional home remodel work.

The change in our upstairs bathroom was amazing!  We had water damage in our kitchen ceiling, and called Collins Construction Group immediately to come to our home to investigate.  Collins Construction quickly diagnosed our problem and developed a solution right away.  We were very relieved! The tile design was beautiful and we instantly knew we would be in good hands after observing their expertise while walking us through the project.  The demolition was not an inconvenience because of how efficient the team worked.  The tile came out beautifully and the quality of painting was incredible.  They transformed a "kids bathroom" into an adult bathroom with painting, tile, lighting, faucets and hardware.  Collins Construction Group was so easy to work with and we were impressed with each member of their team who arrived at our home to finish all the parts of our project.  The communication was great, we knew every next step.  Everyone from Collins Construction Group was very professional and kind, and we felt very taken care of.  I would highly recommend them for any project, large or small.

We LOVE our kitchen!  Collins made our small kitchen BIG through their design, expertise and creativity. The compliments we get our endless. Our affordable custom built Amish cabinets are amazing, and designed to fit perfectly. Remodeling with Collins was easy and
stress-free. The project was hardwood on the first floor, new cabinets, granite, walls and ceiling were painted, new window and sliding glass door and new lighting. Collins took our dreams and made them reality, and enhanced our dreams with their design. The detail put into this project was impressive. The cleanliness of our house during remodeling should be mentioned, because it made a difference. The team left our home dust free each night. Collins communication was excellent, we always knew the next step. They worked within
our budget and the project was finished exactly on-time. I would highly recommend Collins Construction Group to my family and friends.

Dan handled everything, from architect to permit to final walk through to ensure satisfaction. He listened to my desire to keep the pacer patio, which every other builder told me I needed to rip out and replace with a wood porch. That was not what I wanted and was estimated to be $20k more! Needless to say, I'm thrilled with the quality of the workmanship. They were prompt, reliable and flexible to make small changes on the fly. I highly recommend their work! They educated us and answered every question with patience. Our satisfaction was his goal! His employees were thoughtful and delivered on service.

We are so pleased with the basement built by Collins Construction Group!  If A+ scores could be given that is what we would rate the experience that we had with this company.  We have absolutely no complaints and have only compliments to give about Dan Collins and his expert team!  We will definitely use them again for upcoming home remodeling projects and have already recommended them to several of our friends.
Collins provides quality construction, excellent communication throughout the process, and a fair price for the beautiful work that they do.  We read reference letters and talked to several folks about Collins and everybody had the same glowing comments.  You can trust this team to do an amazing job.  Every detail of the project is expertly handled.  And his team has worked with him for years & years which is another good indicator of the level of commitment that they have to the job they do.  
The entire team, including all of the subcontractors, are top notch.  They communicated every step of the process and listened to our wants/needs to give us the basement we wanted. I have had personal experience with building three new homes and by far this was the best experience that I've ever had.  
So, if you are looking for someone to do excellent work on your project look no further than Collins Construction Group.  You won't be disappointed.

Dan Collins is the best contractor ever, ideal to work with. He's very responsive (calls back almost immediately, emails are responded to just as quickly) and he has top-notch people working for him. While the project took longer than anticipated, and it's just finishing up - we may have another week at the most for the pocket door installation and finishing touches - the end result is breathtaking.
His cabinet maker is top-notch (I'll write a review about him as well) - Kenny Hochstetler of Yoder's in Sullivan, IL), we recommend very highly his electrician, his tile setters (we will be reviewing them as well) - everyone who works for Dan does quality work. 
I would recommend Dan Collins and his Construction Group without reservation. If everyone had the same experience with a contractor as I had, there'd be no complaints about incomplete jobs, shoddy workmanship, etc. He and his company are top-notch.  I had checked his references, and everyone had the same glowing comments, and I will definitely be among them.
