Glenn provided a fair quote, explained the process, and was upfront with me on everything. The team of three was on time given the travel distance and started working right away. Our patio is very large (over 400 sq. ft.) and against the house with a knee wall on the other three sides. Jeremy really did a great job at slowly lifting each area so that no new cracks appeared. He took his time and looked at the patio from different angles to make sure things were right. He went back and added more slurry where needed. The other two co-workers kept up and provided help where needed. They worked excellent together as a team and understood what had to be done. All three were friendly, polite and easy to talk to. My experience with them was definitely different, in a good way than others who have added their reviews, telling me that things are improving. I would hire them again, if another project comes along. I will add to this if any problems occur.

Work was done promptly but severe orange stain was evident when cement cured. Vendor did not return calls requesting repair and never came back to resurface sidewalk.

We had work scheduled each day with different contractors to get this unit back to where it could be lived in.
The company I had hired to come on a certain day notified me the day before that they had truck issues and could not come. I then called Glenn who came all of the way from Batavia, IL in rush hour traffic to get here the next morning to start & complete the job. I returned home at 7:30 at night and he was sitting in his truck in our parking lot doing his office work, returning calls and paperwork before his long ride home.
He wanted me to go inside the unit with him so he could show me everything that was done. I can't say enough good things about this man as he goes way beyond the call of duty. I highly recommend him and feel he should win the Angie's award for excellent customer service, work ethics and an honest company.

Glenn from A-1 Concrete in Batavia was recommended to me by another Angie's List recommended company, Great Lakes Builders in Chicago who do Structural Repairs. I called A-1 regarding an issue we were having with a 1st floor unit and must say Glenn explained in detail what needed to be done. The only problem was that I was out of his territory by about 3 miles and I was very disappointed about that as I wanted him to do the job.
I was on a very tight schedule with mud-jacking to be done first then the plumber needed to come and cut a 10 ft. section out of the concrete floor, then the remodeling contractors needed to get started.
I had to call another franchise owner in River Forest who serviced our area and spoke with Joe who did come out and give us a price for the work that needed to be done. The day before they were scheduled to mud-jack the unit, their office called to notify me that
they were having issues with their truck and could not make it Thursday and possibly not Friday, they did not know what was wrong as the mechanic had not yet looked at the truck.
That was unacceptable to me so I called Glenn, my original call and asked if he could do anything for me and he said they do help each other out if needed and he would call for me. The job was performed as scheduled by the master in his trade, Glenn and the crew in one day. They worked until 7:00 p.m. so they did not have to drive all the way back the next day to finish. Needless to say, they did a Great Job and I very highly recommend them!
P.S. Joe from the A-1 Concrete -River Forest location told me he is purchasing a new truck and will spend the winter months
outfitting it with the equipment it needs.

They were very quick and efficient. They showed me that the work was successful by letting the hose water run close to the house and then run away from the foundation. I was very impressed by the work they did.
