On July 21 we contacted Wolfhager, and talked to Charlie about replacing our deck with a 3-season room.  He put together an estimate and some blueprints, which we submitted to our village for a permit.  The village came up with MANY (over 25) changes and requirements, so the blueprints had to be reworked at least 3 times.  We have learned since that our village has some of the most rigid requirements in the area.  They required deeper footings than Charlie originally intended, hurricane brackets holding on the roof, a cement pad under the stairs, and many other things that caused our costs to go up.  Actual construction could not begin until around Sept. 1, but the delay was caused by the village.  The demolition took a day and a half, and the new structure was built in two more days.  The exterior finishing, which included building the roof and wrapping the structure in cedar paneling and then staining it,  took about 4 more days.  Another company hired by Wolfhager came in and shingled the roof and installed the gutters.  An electrician contracted by Wolfhager came in, and installed the outlets, switches and lights.  Someone else came in and installed dry wall.  There was another lengthy delay because the company that constructed the windows didn't have the material needed to make the frames the color we wanted, and then a die broke and a new one had to be built.  The man from the Canadian company that makes the windows was very apologetic.  Finally, the contractor who shingled the roof had to come in again and repair the aluminum soffits outside of the room.  We had originally hoped the project would take three or four weeks, but it took over 3 months.  None of the delay was Wolfhager's fault, and Charlie's work is excellent.  One thing we learned after the fact is that we did not express our expectations for how the room would be finished thoroughly enough before the project was started.  That was our fault.  Wolfhager adjusted to our changing expectations without complaint.

Wolffhager Contracting and Development is an extremely professional and wonderful company to work with whether you have a small fix-it job or a major home remodel like ours was. They were exceptional from start to finish! From the bidding/surveying part of the job and understanding our vision, to the follow-through, workmanship, and delivering the overall end result. What a dream team! Reliable, hardworking, trustworthy, competent, highly skilled, communicative, honest, well priced, fun loving...this company has it all! I have referred many of my friends to Wolffhager and they've all been completely happy and satisfied and have in turn referred them to their friends! It's so nice to find a company that can handle the stress of a home project so effortlessly. They ripped out and replaced our entire kitchen...cabinets, counters, appliances, back-splash, lighting...2 full baths, crown molding and woodwork throughout house, new fireplaces and mantles, refinished wood floors, built-ins, Hardiplank siding on home, Trex deck, painting, electric, plumbing...they handled it all and did an amazing job! I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to get the job done well and right the first time! They are worth every penny!

I wish there was a higher grad than "A" especially for Quality and Professionalism. I am a hard grader with significant attention to detail and Jeff and Charlie exceeded my expectations. The quality of their workmanship was even commented on by the city inspectors throughout the process. The work was completed ontime and within budget. They were more than willing to answer my litany of questions and worked very well with our architect as well. They were considerate of our family needs especially those of our children. A large majority of the work was completed themselves and they were onsite to oversee any of the specialized work that was needed. They arrived promptly at 7am and worked 5-6 days a week including in poor weather. It is so refreshing to know that we finally have a reliable contractor to turn to for all of our future projects.
