From the Consultant to the Crew, Everthing was Fantastic. Our consultant was very knowable and explained all about the moving experience. Our Crew was right on time. Very friendly, respectful and curteous. They worked hard and fast without any mishaps. Once we got the to new house, the unloaded and took are of all our furniture, like it was their own. I would hire Ace Relocation Systems again, without a second thought. They also followed up on moving day and the day after. What a GREAT JOB by them.

We contacted Bea McDonough, an agent for Ace Relocation Services, about moving our belongings into storage and then into our new home in another state. She was knowledgeable and gave us a prompt quote for our move. The packers and movers were well trained, professional and friendly. They moved all of our belongings into storage until our new home is ready. They will transport and deliver our belongings in a couple of months. I would recommend them to anyone needing storage and moving.

Wonderful! From the quote to packing to the actual move, everything was handled extremely professionally. Nothing was lost or broken. The actual cost came very close to original estimate. We would recommend to everyone.

The load out was very professional and the work was exemplary. It was on time, and the staff handled my property well. The delivery was a shambles. I had been assured that the crew would not be arriving on the first day of the delivery window, so I was able to delay my leaving my old home location until the next day after load out- only to be contacted while on the road the next day that the truck would be delivering the next day - so I had to drive all night (from Chicago to Hartford) to meet them.
It was raining badly. My load had been transferred to a smaller truck (not sure why, it would have been easy to fit a full size trailer in my complex) and many boxes showed signs of being stacked and crushed (every single one of my wardrobe boxes was crushed with clothes and hangers in a mess.  I also later discovered some internal damage to my bed, my futon, and other items with no obvious external damage. They were also not particularly careful and scuffed up some walls in my new place.Though I had arranged in advance for the moving of my Steinway upright piano, the delivery crew was ill-equipped to handle in, even m,ore so in the rain.  They almost injured themselves and destroyed the piano because they didn't have a long enough ramp and could barely control the heavy piano on a too steep ramp in the rain. They also absconded with one of my own hand trucks (the company did reimburse me for that. It is the only item I officially reported missing/damaged.)
 They worked hurriedly and did not give me sufficient time to compare inventory tags to be sure I had everything (and some items were missing, and some heavier items were placed in the wrong rooms because of the hurry. Boxes marked do not stack or do not place on bottom - markings were ignored-I noticed this both on the truck and when left in my condo. The delivery crew was a grade D. The pickup crew was an A. Guess that yields a C.
So I would say on the Chicago/Illinois end, things were great, but on the delivery end in CT (with a crew apparently from the DC metro area!) it was a disaster.
I was also very displeased when I switched from a binding to non-binding estimate because I was actually moving A LOT less stuff than originally estimated and yet wound up with a bill for added weight that exceeded the original binding estimate - meaning their estimator really low-balled and screwed me over. Not happy about that.

Our estimator, Amy, was the only 1 of 3 contacted companies to come to the house to see all the furniture we wanted moved in order to provide a better estimate, which was well below the other 2 estimates. The original estimate included a large safe, although during later conversations, Amy found a specialty mover for the safe, which resulted in a safer and more efficient move. After confirming with Amy, I spoke with Jennifer, the moving coordinator, and we were able to schedule the move in 10 days. The morning of the move, the truck and team of 4 arrived promptly, did a quick walk through, protected the floors and wall edges and set to work. They wrapped each piece of furniture carefully but quickly and were even able to work around the safe movers when they arrived. As we were moving out to the country on narrow roads, I gave the driver what I thought would be the best route, then followed them out after loading up our cat into the carrier (which took some time). I caught up at one of the last crossroads where they were getting gas and waiting for me. Turns out, my best route had a weight restricted section and the driver wanted to find another way. We were able to figure a new route, arrive at the new house, and unloading began. They were just as meticulous in protecting the floors and walls of the new house and still finished ahead of schedule. They even knocked off the extra 15 minutes it took to figure out the route to the house! ACE contacted me the day after the move to confirm there was a refund, confirmed the address again and sent a check promptly! Although we don't plan to move again any time soon, we will use ACE again!

After adjusting my schedule to meet him earlier than planned, he told me that he would send me a quote the next day (5/30). At the end of that day, I left Nathan an email to let him know that I did not receive the quote. I called the office and was told that I needed to contact Nathan. Again the following Monday, I left Nathan a message to let him know that I still hadn't received the quote. Despite my two messages, I have not received a return call or a quote from this company.

The gentleman that did the move, Billy, was wonderful. There staff was very polite and professional. I was very happy with them. They made it as easy as possible for me. Billy even called and let me know when he was coming. He gave me his cell phone number so I could contact him just in case.

We have used Ace Relocation twice now, both moves from and to the same place. Both times the drivers and loaders/unloaders were very professional, very conscientious, and very careful with how they handled our goods. They worked together great as a team, and were a true credit to their company and profession.
In short, we couldn't possibly be happier with the work they did. They were always on time, the estimates were accurate (and they were flexible as we added/removed things from the loads), and HQ called each time to see if the loading, and then the unloading, was going OK.

Ace was awesome from top to bottom! From the estimator, Kurt, to Jennifer, the moving coordinator, to Jimmy and the crew of movers, you couldn't ask for a better group of people. We went with Ace even though they were the highest bid for our move because of some of the reviews here on Angie's List, and boy was it a great decision. Kurt was by far the most thorough of the estimators who came to evaluate our move, and he was right on the money in terms of how big of a truck we needed, how many movers we needed, and how much time it would take to complete our move. I mean literally, to the minute! He also told us about things to be aware of as we solicited bids, and he was again, spot on! He was the only person to point out that moving on a Sunday would cost us overtime pay, and then he showed us the price differential between a Sunday and Saturday move. None of the other companies pointed out that we would have to pay overtime, and none of them listed it on the bids that they gave us. After we decided to use ACE, Kurt called and thanked us for our business, and our date was booked without delay by Jennifer, the moving coordinator. She called back to secure payment on the day before our move, and she asked if we had any questions about what was going to happen. She told us exactly what to expect, and she was amazingly helpful in assuaging my lingering doubts about the process. Finally, on the appointed day, the movers showed up EXACTLY on time. They had all of the materials that we had been promised, and they conducted a quick walk through to verify the items on the estimate. They had floor protection down in seconds, and they started working like a flock of crazed hummingbirds on our move. While moving is inherently stressful, I have to say that the attitude of the movers made it almost enjoyable! They bantered back and forth, and played jokes on each other, and laughed a lot during the entire process, all the while taking the utmost care of our belongings. It was impossible to stay stressed out when we saw how great these guys were, carrying inhuman loads of stuff and laughing all the while! They were positively infectious. Once I saw how cool everyone was, I immediately ran out and got donuts for the crew, suddenly feeling more like I had guests in my home than contractors who were just doing a job. When the guys saw that we still had a little packing left to do, they set to, started making up boxes, and they got us all finished and packed up, which they hadn't even been contracted to do! Unloading of the truck at our new house was similar. The effort of the crew never flagged, their professionalism never wavered, and they even dealt with our changing furniture placement with a smile. There was never a moment where I was concerned with my possessions. They disassembled and reassembled all of our furniture that was too big to move whole perfectly, and without a scratch. The only casualty of our move was a coffee mug that I dropped myself!
In closing, let me say that it is amazing to see professionalism and service no matter where you encounter it. Based on my experience with this company, I can say without question that they are to moving what Disney is to theme parks, Nordstroms is to retailers, and the Four Seasons is to hotels. I would be happy to provide referrals of Ace Relocation Systems to my friends and family, and I would have them ask for the employees that I worked with by name. You really can't do better than these guys!

In the end, it was fine.

Ace Relocation Systems did a great job with our cross-country move from Chicago to the Bay Area, California. We moved from one tall townhouse to another tall townhouse, so a lot of stairs were involved; the Ace crew arrived on time, packed our home carefully, and cleaned up after themselves. The crew was polite and friendly, and the driver and foreman, Scott, explained every step and guided us through the paperwork. Packing on moving day took longer than anticipated, so they called in two extra men to assist with loading the truck. Once they arrived, things moved much faster.

The truck arrived in California earlier than expected, which was great. All of our items arrived in good condition, and they reassembled our furniture for us. The move was completed within the binding estimate. We're very pleased with Ace and would recommend them without reservation.

Kurt from Ace came and gave us an on-site binding estimate for moving from Chicago to the Boston area for our 3 bedroom condo. We got three estimates from three highly rated companies, but Kurt seemed the most knowledgeable and also gave us the lowest binding bid.

The movers came on time and did a great, careful job. No damage to my condo or building during the move out. The crew that moved us in on the Boston side was equally professional and did a great job. All around I feel like we got a good deal for an excellent service and the price was exactly as estimated.

The movers who packed us were very polite and helpful, as were the workers who unpacked us. We haven't unpacked everything, but I don't think there was any damage. :) The only issue we had was that the people on the packing end told us we'd probably get our shipment within the first few days of the contracted date. When trying to contact the company, it was fairly difficult to find out an actual estimated time of delivery. We finally confirmed that our shipment would be delivered on the very last day of the contracted date. It would be nice if there were a bit more communication between the packing and delivering ends of the system.

Excellent service! Professional, friendly, and responsible crews at both ends of the move. Absolutely nothing broken or missing and excellent customer service from every employee that I had contact with. Reasonable price.

COMPANY WAS PROFESSIONAL AT ALL LEVELS and OFFERED FREE PACKING CARTONS AS NEEDED. NEAT, CLEAN TRUCK, OFFICE, and WAREHOUSE. GOOD FOLLOW-UP BY OFFICE STAFF DURING and AFTER MOVE.
