Product failed to perform as promised. We were promised a reprieve from the constant airplane noise and given assurances that we would be able to sleep at night. Unfortunately, this product did not perform as promised. I do not believe the product is at fault and the installation crew was professional and competent. Salesmen Dave and Garry spent two hours in my home experiencing the noise and draft issues. Dave spent an additional hour when he returned to sign the contract. We were extremely transparent with our home issues, previous experiences and desperation for sleep. No one from Window concepts raised any doubt that they and their product would solve our problem...until it didn't. At which point I requested a portion of my purchase refunded. I allowed Brian and Bob to inspect the windows. The experience was extremely unprofessional as Brian and Bob insisted that common sense says that replacing the windows would not solve our problem. If so, someone at their company should have raised a flag that their product would not help and they should not have sold me anything. They screamed at me in my home and did so until I scream at them to get out. They even asked why my husband wasn't a part of the conversation. I have never been spoken to in such a manner and trust me, I am not powerful enough to illicit the rage that I experience from them. Maybe in family, but not strangers. Again, we were extremely transparent with them and they learned nothing new about our situation from coming to my home. Everything we stated about our home issues has evidence to back it up and photographic evidence of the original install issues was given to everyone with whom we dealt at this company. The bottom line is that Window Concepts promised a resolution that they were unable to provide. Nothing that happened in my home prior to their entry has any bearing on the current issue. Please see detailed letter below indicating the events Mr. Murphy and Mr. Domek: This letter is in response to the installation of windows at our home of 42 years and the lack of response from Mr. Domek regarding e-mail dated February 22, 2019 requesting refund of the four additional windows that I was talked into purchasing. In addition, Mr. Domek had received two e-mails with video clips of noise issues dated February 20, 2019. We did our due diligence to ensure that all parties understood the events of our home renovation. We were extremely transparent regarding our inability to financially and emotionally handle another construction debacle. Please, allow this letter to clarify my experience with your company. As I wish to be clear on the timeline and experience, to summarize: 1. Mr. Dave Smith and Mr. Garry Dakan spent two hours in my home experiencing the noise and draft issues and assured me that installing your windows would resolve all such issues. They both assured me the issues were caused by poor installation and inferior product. My greatest concern was that I have not been able to have a decent night’s sleep in five years. I expressed my desperation to remedy this despite the financial cost. 2. Dave, Garry, your carpenter, and all of the installers were shown the attached document and informed of the details of the issues. At no point did any of your staff indicate any doubt that my issues would be resolve by your company. 3. All staff, including Maria, were fully briefed on our previous window installation failure. We did our due diligence to ensure everyone understood the issues, concerns and financial and emotional stakes. Again, everyone offered assurances that your company would remedy the issues. 4. Our intent was to install one window. Due to your staff’s assurances and the cost per window benefit, we installed six. 5. There has been no attempt by anyone at your company to remedy the situation despite having been told that Window Concepts would take care of any issue – again, I was assured there would not be any issues. 6. Dave informed me no money was due until the windows were installed and we were 100% satisfied. At no point in the three to four phone calls to arrange the install did Tony state that payment would be required on the day of install. Tony would not leave without payment despite my stating what Dave had told me and I could not know if I was 100% satisfied until I spent time with the noise. I felt pressured to pay at that time and am clearly regretting that I did so. On November 16, 2018, despite having the appointment booked with only Dave, both Garry and Dave arrived early. They stated that Maria had shared with them our issues and they wished to assure me that Window Concepts was a company with high integrity. They stayed for two hours. During this time they personally experienced the noise and draft issues. They assured me in multiple wordage that proper window installation with a superior glass will resolve all of the noise issues. I made it very clear that I wanted one window due to our previous negative experience. I was clear that we could not financially nor emotionally recover if the home was left in a state that did not allow sleeping and had continued noise issues. During this visit Dave received a phone call from a satisfied customer which Dave placed on speaker as the customer said, “I can finally sleep again! Thank you!” While it seemed staged, at the time I accepted it was not. Now, I am not as certain that this was not a sales trick. While Mr. Domek insists that his employees would not make such statements, both Garry and Dave guaranteed, assured and gave the message without question that I would have no issue sleeping and I would not hear the airplanes once your product was installed. Mr. Domek did not indicate that he had ever spoken to either Garry or Dave about this conversation. While I was clear that I wanted to start with one window, they both explained the timeline, winter discount, cost per window difference, etc. I then said I would be willing to do four windows to cover my office and bedroom. They tried to talk me into the whole house as there would not be any issues and they guaranteed I would be satisfied. They talked me into six windows stating that was a full days work and would result in an additional discount. On November 30, 2018, Dave returned to my home and spent another hour experiencing the noise and draft issues. Again, he assured me that these issues would be completely resolved once your company installed your product. I, again, explained that I was already having nightmares about the window install and was extremely anxious this would be a repeat of our first experience. As many times as I expressed these fears, Dave assured me they were unfounded. I was told that the bedroom interior sound abatement window would no longer be needed after your installation. Despite this assurance, I requested that it remain in place. This is indicated on the document dated November 20, 2018. I asked about utilizing soundproofing insulation around the windows and Dave stated that would not be necessary, as your company will use both foam and standard insulation. Clearly, I was very foolish to not get Dave to put in writing his words of assurances and that payment was not due until I was satisfied. I can say I have finally learned this lesson as well as to never pay in full until satisfied. Wednesday, December 5, 2018 your carpenter Dave came to measure and inspect the job. Again, I explained in full our situation, shared the attached document with him and our desperation for sleep. Your carpenter inspected all windows, including the sound abatement window to ensure that it could be utilized over the Window Concepts Windows. Again, at no point was there any doubt expressed as to whether this would solve our problem. Again, only assurances were shared. On Tuesday, February 19, 2019 your crew arrived to install the windows. I, again, explained the issues and shared the attached document with them. I was very transparent in my desperation for sleep and need for this to remedy our situation. They were professional and did show me their work along the way. When they finished, Tony assured me that the issues would be
