Ron did a fantastic job on my bathroom remodel. He treated my home with respect and always cleaned up each night. Ron's attention to detail and quality of his work is amazing and hard to find these days. I would use Ron again in a heartbeat. He was honest and upfront about pricing, the work that would be done and the time that it took. There were no surprises, and he doesn't waste time. He works quickly and efficiently....I literally have no complaints.

The project went very well. It included reframing work in our 75-year old house in order to start the project including raising the ceiling. And, if the framing isn't right it won't come out right. Ron took great care to make sure this part was right--as he did every other part of the project including electric and plumbing. We did the finish work ourselves however without Ron it never would have turned out like it did. We have done a lot of remodeling over the years in 6 homes. Ron is the best we have ever hired.

I am a "repeat customer" and once again, Ron did his magic and gave us an absolutely beautiful space to live in and entertain in. He gutted our 1970's basement down to the studs. He moved electrical lines and heating duct work in the ceiling and moved them so they weren't in the middle of the room. By moving the electrical lines and changing the lighting to cans, he was able to give us a proper drywall ceiling. Extra insulation was installed in the ceiling and all the walls. Two unusable ancient windows were sealed up and waterproofed and are now covered with drywall. Our stairway was very "1970's" and Ron took it apart and gave us a brand new, beautiful stairwell, with new newel post, handrails and wrought iron ballusters, attaching them to a wall he added next to the stairwell. He installed beautiful wood-look vinyl flooring by AduraMax that has a bit of padding in it that keeps the floors so much warmer. He added 2 heat vents to the basement, allowing it to be cozy instead of freezing. He installed a built in surround sound speaker system and a high definition theater system. He created adrywall valance to hide the movie screen on the wall when it was scrolled up. Ron also hung new shelving in our storage closet, drywalled one side and painted it to make it brighter. To top everything off, he installed beautiful crown moulding around the entire basement. Our basement went from being a cold, dark room to being a place where we love to enjoy our evenings and bring guests to. Ron is so creative and such an incredibly hard worker. Having been customers of his for years, we cannot give him high enough marks for the quality of work he does and the beautiful results he has given us. We have another project coming up in a few months and can't wait to get started!

This is a review of two different projects that Ron did for us recently.  The first ended in May and the other in August of 2015.  Those projects included taking our dining room, entry hall, and family room down to studs.  He then moved all the ceiling can lighting in family room, added new insulation to all walls and ceilings. New walls and ceilings went in.  Old tile was taken up in the entry hall and new hardwood flooring laid.  New lighting added to the dining room and hallway, along with wall sconces.  Electrical outlets were all moved to make allowances for the new wainscoting Ron made for us in our living room and dining room.  This required the purchase of a special tool to allow him to hand make the wainscoting we wanted.  It was a huge job and came out beautifully and so professionally.  Ron was a real craftsman.  He also did additional woodworking  around our existing windows in the living room and dining room to add more of a colonial charm.  He also added additional outlets in our entry hall and installed our new fireplace mantle. All rooms and hallways were painted as well.  This is not the first time we hired Ron as you can see from our previous reviews.  He also remodeled and expanded our master bath and remodeled our hallway bath.  Ron does exemplary work and I wouldn't hesitate to hire him in a heartbeat.  He is prompt, is a great communicator, is a hard and conscientious worker and has a real eye for detail.  He doesn't leave anything undone - very thorough.  He is a pleasure to work with.

Working with Ron was a great experience for us from start to finish and, at the end, we had the master bath of our dreams.  Our master bath was large with a lot of wasted space.  Our goal was to update and upgrade our bathroom to make better use of the space and to improve its appearance.  Specifically, I wanted a larger linen closet, and my husband wanted a larger shower.  We got both.  We had spoken with two other companies who were happy to do the remodel from start to finish without requiring much time or input from us for a modest $60,000 or so. (When completed this project cost us about half that amount.)  However, since we had done a lot of the work building our home 20 years ago, we wanted to take an active role in our project.  Ron was open to that concept.  If you decide to go that route, you have to be prepared to make a lot of seemingly small decisions quickly and that can be stressful.  We started by collecting pictures of bathrooms we liked on Houzz, a website, and then we met with Ron about 6 weeks before we started demolition to work out the floor plan and to talk about the fixtures, tile, cabinets, shower bases etc.  Ron suggested some suppliers and web retailers.  As the demolition date approached, we had a drawing of our agreed upon floor plan.  For me, this felt like a walk on the wild side because it was difficult for me to visualize.  Fortunately, my husband is better at that, and he was good with it.  So, we started.  I was impressed from the first day.  Ron showed up at the date and time promised.  He was very careful to protect our wood floors from scratches by taping heavy duty cardboard sheets in our bedroom, the hall and the stairs.  Every day, he left the worksite clean.  My biggest regret is that I did not take photos every day as the project progressed.  Every day, when I came home from work, I would rush up to see that day's progress.  Ron is a perfectionist.  He would point out places that he would have to make minor adjustments to straighten something or center something else, and I couldn't see what he was talking about because it looked fine to me.  He was great at making design suggestions when we were torn between options or when something we wanted was outside of the budget.  He also suggested and implemented finishing touches that we didn't expect but loved, for example, he installed a light in the linen closet that goes on and off as you open and close the door.  He was great at keeping us on schedule in terms of when he needed things delivered, like the granite counters.  He was also flexible when some things were on back-order and re-arranged his work plan accordingly.  I felt like he treated us as partners in the project.  At times, we would consult and made design changes together, like putting in  an accent border in the shower floor.  At other times in would push us in a direction, like helping us to pick a light fixture that was large enough for our room, and at times we convinced him to go our way--like installing a tile shower base.  Our bathroom turned out great.  It was more than I expected.  The various design elements came together.  We used travertine tile, and Ron's installation took the color variations into account.  Ron was great to work with, and we plan to use him again.

It went well.  The kitchen looks great.  He worked with my quirky tile backsplash and made it work.  He is very patient with small barking dogs and curious cats.  He was very attuned to detail.  Ron actually fixed a problem with the quartz countertop that the installers had tried to "gloss" over.  He also did my bathroom rehab in 2013.

We hired Ron Williams in June 2014 to completely gut and remodel our hallway guest bathroom.  This required the removal of a cast iron bathtub and getting a new full-size cast iron tub up the stairs.  He installed new walls, new insulation, crown mouldings, all shower tile with a custom niche, cast iron tub, vanity, new toilet and flooring.  The transformation was amazing and beautiful due to the fine work that Ron does.  His exceptional attention to detail is impressive and very much appreciated.  So much so, that we hired him again to remodel our master bathroom in November 2014.  Not only did he gut this bathroom to the studs, but Ron worked with us to change the footprint of the room and enlarged it, requiring walls to be moved, as well as plumbing and electrical.  This resulted in the addition of a walk-in shower spa with a bench seat and custom niche.  Because of its size, the shower floor was a custom size, and Ron's recommendation for a company to make that floor for us was fantastic.  We are so pleased with the transformation of our master bath!  Once again, we were exceptionally pleased with Ron's outstanding work and attention to detail.  He works tirelessly, puts in a full day's work (and at times back-breaking work, i.e., our bathtub) and is a pleasure to work with.  We will be hiring Ron again for additional remodeling in  Spring 2015.  I would highly recommend Ron Williams for any remodeling work you might have.

Ron did work for us about a year ago.  I like to wait about a year before I give a review, because experience has taught me that there are often follow-up items that may come up shortly after the remodel is completed, and it's best to live with the remodeled space before really sharing your opinion about it.  With that said, I couldn't be more happy with the work that Ron performed.  He provided innovative ideas for our space that we hadn't thought of, he stayed on schedule, and the quality of his work was excellent.  There were a few unexpected difficulties that arose during the project, and Ron was able to develop create solutions to address them.  We also requested some additional work near the project's conclusion, and Ron was able to accommodate these requests quickly as well.  After living in the space for about a year, I am so glad that we hired Ron.  The new configuration that Ron suggested has been such an improvement over the old layout, and I don't have a single complaint about the quality of the work.  I would certainly recommend Ron without hesitation.

The project consisted of an entire remodel of the master bath which included some partial updates to the master bedroom and adjoining closet. The details of the master bath remodel is a total gut job. Ron did an amazing job from framing, drywalling, painting, plumbing, electrical, tiling, and finishing work. He truly is one man that does it all. From the beginning he knew what my budget was and kept me in line since I started to think of additional things to add to the project. He found alternative solutions to satisfy the additions within the budget.
The partial updates to the closet included the continuation of the bath tile to the closet, fixing some drywall issues, closet door install, and trim work.
The partial updates to the master bedroom included trim work, door install, and can lights.
Everything turned out well and exceeded my expectation. I've already recommended Ron to others and hope to have him do more work in the near future

The design, destruction, construction, installation and wrap-up included:
Taking a small bathroom and turning it into a master bath by knocking out a hallway wall, moving it to expand the depth, removing the tub and building a shower stall w/bench, claiming a bedroom closet into the bathroom in order to widen the length, tearing out a circa 1954 Alabama grown hardwood floor, closing off a window, building a half wall, installing two Toto dual flush toilets, installing new copper pipes, new electrics, new floor-ceiling tile, floor tile, build/install a pocket door, paint, grout and seal all. Whew!

Ron remodeled our upstairs hall bath and master bathroom. We are so happy with the results! Both baths were a total gut job, he did the hall bathroom first which has two sinks, shower/tub, and toilet. He was able to move plumbing to get our sinks and countertop to be more functional in the space and installed all of our materials superbly. His attention to detail is outstanding. We had some mosaic tile details in the backsplash and in the shower surround and it looks fabulous. We added a vent as well and reworked some lighting. Total time from start to finish was about 10 days.
The master bathroom was really old and moldy and now it's modern and fresh! All of the bones were good, we kept everything in the same location but just updated it. Shower, tub, double sinks, and toilet room. Total time was approximately 19 days. Ron did have to move some plumbing around again to accommodate the tub we purchased and the sinks, but it was no problem. He was able to give us recommendations of where to go to buy certain materials/fixtures, as well as approximate costs for each, which was really helpful since this was the first time we had done a major home remodel. The tile work in the shower was detailed as was the layout of the glass shower doors and base and he worked with us every step of the way and even sketched out drawings. He also created custom doors for our odd linen closets and suggested putting full length mirrors on the face of the door which was a GREAT idea! The only thing I would have liked to have was a temporary schedule of when he needed fixtures, etc, to install. There were times I felt like I was pressured to purchase something because he needed to install it in a few days. Having an approx schedule would've been helpful for us. Maybe it was just because we were first time remodelers and didn't really know what to expect. Overall, Ron did a spectacular job. He was punctual every morning, communicated greatly via text/email/phone. Whatever was convenient for us. I'm a mom with two young kids that were home majority of the day and having him around daily for about 6 weeks wasn't an issue at all. We will definitely be using Ron again for other home remodeling projects!

Ron is a pleasure to work with.  He is very professional and highly skilled in what he does.  He is a no-nonsense guy, and we appreciated his input into the design and selection of quality materials that would function best - without having to spend a lot of money.  We are also thankful that he suggested that we expand our master bathroom to make room for a much larger shower with a bench.  We would not have come up with that solution on our own, and we absolutely love it.  For the second bathroom, again - he gave some excellent suggestions on materials - and came up with the design to frame our mirrors with mosaic tile.  It looks beautiful.  He also solved several problems - some that we knew about, some that we didn't (this included proper ventilation, moving plumbing that was on exterior walls - where there was evidence of pipes that had frozen in years past, and providing  additional insulation where needed).  He was very thorough, and paid attention to details we wouldn't have thought about - and included us in every decision.

Compared to other contractors we talked to/got estimates from, we found Ron to be most personable, most trustworthy, and most realistic on what it would take to complete quality work.  We had no issue handing him the key to our house to come and go whenever he needed to.  He came every day he said he would, and did not start any other jobs until ours was complete.

Since we had a few months in between the 2 bathroom remodels, we did make some adjustments in the planning and approach for bathroom #2...notably,  planning out where the debris would go.  We did request to use a dumpster for the 2nd bathroom so that we wouldn't be hauling out so much garbage and taking up so much space in the garage like we did with the 1st bathroom.  We also got his input on materials before he started, so we had plenty of time to make our selections without feeling rushed.

It is clear that Ron is a highly talented individual, and his skills go beyond bathroom remodeling (he has mentioned and/or shown us pictures of work he has done in basements, mudrooms, fireplaces, and kitchens).  We have discussed other projects in our house with him, and when the time is right, we will likely call him again.

Ron was great.  He worked with me to bring my vision to reality while providing guidance and never pushing his own preferences.
Ron Williams came out to give ideas.  With his help we were able to maximize the space in the bathroom.  I choose Ron because of his willingness to work with my time and budget. He brought great design ideas and details to the initial appointment.  He was very attentive to the goal of the project and its obstacles.  Personally, I think everything went smoothly.  It?s difficult to schedule multiple clients and sometimes scheduling could get a little thin when you run into obstacles.   What captivated me about Ron was the energy and enthusiasm from the conception of the design to the very end.   The main thing was the he was very considerate of the budget without compromising the quality of the work.  Ron tirelessly prepared back-up plans through the entirety of the project.  It was such a pleasure working with such talented person who was respectful of our time and budget.

Ron Williams is a careful, well-rounded professional.  His work is exemplary.  His approach is low-key, with no high pressure selling.  He lets the work speak for itself.  He has been flexible when we needed to bring in other contractors for the same overall job (e.g., an Icynene insulation contractor when we reworked our back porch for energy efficiency).
Because of his workmanship, he is in demand.
I'd use him again in a heartbeat.

It went great.  He was prompt and worked diligently through out the day.  He did not seem to mind my 4 curious small dogs or my cats, either.  He asked for my input (I worked from home several days while he was there) on important decisions.  He also did a few small jobs I had that my husband could not get to.

Ron was very busy at the time that I called him and it was approx. 4 weeks before he was able to start the work. He arrived promptly at the agreed time and began the demolition. After completely gutting the bathroom he did all of the plumbing and electrical work and replaced all of the drywall and the bath tub. He then tiled the floors and walls and installed the fixtures. There was no wasted time and he finished the work earlier than promised. My new Master bath is the most beautiful room in the house.
Ron is the most professional tradesman that I have ever worked with and I highly recommend him and will be using him again for my other bathroom and kitchen.

When we first met Ron, we were immediately impressed with his professionalism.  Ron gave an accurate estimate on cost and length of time to complete the project.  During the project, Ron returned our phone calls and emails within a timely manner.  He was very respectful of our house.  We also loved his attention to detail.  He did an unbelievable job with our tile.  He aligned the tile perfectly and was able to perform flawless cuts on many angles.  Ron was also meticulous with our featured wave wall. The wave wall came in 16" X 16" tiles and Ron was able to make the wall look like one seamless 4' X 6' piece.  It is truly remarkable.  Along the way, Ron had many helpful suggestions to make our bathroom even better.  For example, he suggested we put a seat in our shower; we love how that opened up our shower space.  We were also impressed with his plumbing skills.  Not many contractors can say they installed a urinal with an infrared sensor!  In addition, Ron was able to precisely construct our very complicated 4 zone shower.  The other benefit of hiring Ron was that he was the only person working on our bathroom. We did not have a small army of unknown workers coming in and out of our house. Ron is very trustworthy.  We even allowed him to work in our house while we went on summer vacation.  From start to finish, we truly enjoyed working with Ron.  We would hire him again without hesitation!

Things wernt very smoothly all the way through.? Ron kept me advised on what he was doing and how much longer it might be.? He was held up on several items because he found problems with some of the structure when he went to replace the windows, and the ceiling fan.? He was very meticulous with his repairs, and as he found things that were not correct, he always explained to me in detail what the problem was and what would be needed to fix it as well as how it would influence the final outcome and price ie: while fixing a broken tile in the bathroom he found out the floor under the toilet was rotted out, and the toilet had to be taken out the bad floor cut out and replaced, which included going down in the crawl space and bracing it properly, which he did a beautifu job of.? He was always on time and worked steadily and with skill ie: virtually all of the doors were out of plumb and head to be adjusted as well as trim being adjusted for some humps in the floor caused by improper construction of the floor when the house was built. All of which he acomplished on time.

Ron Williams is a great guy. He did a beautiful job, he always let me know when he would be at my home, and completed the job in a timely manner. However, an $800 job turned into a $1600 job, which is why I won’t use him again. Also, he didn’t replace any furniture, curtains, or blinds when the work was done.
Response from Ron Williams Remodeling
"The member's complaint is unfair. When we initially discussed cost of her water damaged ceiling, we talked about new drywall and patching the damaged wall. She had me wait to do the job until she removed the wallpaper from the bedroom. When I got to the job, all the accumulated furniture and many boxes were in the room....none of it cleared out. I spent over an hour moving furniture, breaking down the bed, and moving boxes. The job did not entail this nor did it include me helping her for 5 hours to remove wallpaper and clean up the walls so that I could begin work. When I began work, I tore down the ruined portion of the ceiling and found water damage so extensive that I had to replace a significant portion of the ceiling joist structure around a fireplace that had leaked for many many years. The wall surrounding the fireplace was completely rotten so I had to rebuild it with 2x4 structure which messed up the trim work so I couldn't reuse it. I had to replace insulation and go up on the roof and spend more than an hour redoing the flashing around the fireplace because I could see daylight from the room below! When the wallpaper was removed, many cracks in the plaster were revealed. They were all filled and the entire room was skim-coated, primed, and painted. None of this was in our initial discussion and she said that she wanted it done. Additionally, I repaired a major crack in the master bedroom ceiling as well as 2 in the hallway. I fixed a faulty outlet and hung a shelf over the toilet in the master bathroom....none of this part of our initial discussion. In all, I did far more than $1600 worth of PROPER repairs to her home but charged her less than I wanted because I was under the impression that I would be doing her bathroom and I wanted to be kind to her because she really needed the help. As for moving the furniture back, I told her that I would help her if she needed. She did not call me back and ask for me to do this...but sure was concerned that her budget was being cut into from doing more work than anticipated. She told me later that the ceiling had leaked for more than 10 years. I did what was necessary to give her a job done correctly and the price was far more than fair. She certainly wouldn't have liked if I tore the ceiling down and then walked off the job because the job was more than the initial guess. She gave me no indication that the extra cost that she knew would be coming was going to cramp her style so drastically."
