Mike and his crew did a great job. Removed old roof and installed new roof. Started @ 7:00 am and finished by 3:oo. Cleaned everything up. Never could tell they were there after they finished. Great job

We just recently hired Hefferan Roofing for the second time since we purchased our house in 2014. The first time was to put on a new silver coating on the part of our roof that was a flat rolled roof, and this time to finally replace the whole roof of our house and detached garage since we knew it was on its final days and was missing a couple shingles, including all new gutters, fascia, and soffit. The house is a split-level, where half has shingles and the other half is a flat roof, whereas the garage is all shingle. The first time we hired them, I was impressed with their work and professionalism (not to mention cost). This time, I was impressed even more. We had four different roofing companies come out to give us an estimate of the work a couple weeks back. I came across Hefferan originally due to recommendations from two neighbors on my block, and wanted to get a few other estimates to compare. In the end, it came down to two, but I decided on Hefferan because of their openness and honesty that I felt was a step better than the runner up (and much a lot better than the other two), as well, surprisingly, even being on the more affordable end. Because of this, we were able to get a little more done that we wanted, that we were expecting to not be able to afford this time around. Mike at Hefferan was more than happy to answer all the questions I had, and really spent a lot of time with us to make sure we were happy. He was also very quick to respond by phone when I later thought of other questions to ask. He assured us that unlike many other roofing companies in the area where it takes them days if not weeks to finally complete replacing the roof (and often requiring them to leave a large garbage bin in the driveway for days), his team could have both the house and garage’s roof not only removed, but completely replaced the same day! Though I was skeptical, he was right! They showed up just as expected at about 7am on the day we were scheduled with 9 workers plus Mike. Astonishingly, they were all packed up and driving away just before 1pm! They were very methodical; you could tell they’ve all been doing this a long time and all know their “stations” and what needed to get done. They were thorough with the cleaning as well, and Mike came and went numerous times throughout the day to ensure everything was going as expected, and even jumped in himself to do some of the work. He was also great in double and triple-checking all the work (for the roofing, as well as soffit, fascia, and gutters), and even was proactive in telling one of the guys to redo a bit of soffit work that wasn’t up to par to his standards. They set the expectations that the roofing work would be finished in one day, and that all the aluminum work would be done in a following day, and they met the set expectations. When Hefferan came out to give us a quote and show us different shingle coloring options, they even supplied a sheet of paper with dozens of addresses (double-sided!) of recent work they’ve done just in Mount Prospect alone, so that we could see what each color looked like in person. To wrap up, I highly recommend Hefferan Roofing for any of your roofing needs. Whether that’s maintenance of an old roof, replacing a flat roof, shingles, fascia, soffit or gutters, they can do it all and very efficiently and professionally. And even without breaking the bank. They’re very reasonable and competitive, and I can only speak very highly of Mike and the whole staff. You won’t be disappointed.

Responsive to phone calls. Delivery of materials and work were completed within reasonable time period given that roof replacement is weather dependent.

The price wasn't the cheapest, but we dealt with this firm on a new roof in the past and knew they would provide quality work.
The work was performed when scheduled, they arrived on time, completed the job and left the job site clean.

I found him on Angie’s List. He was really great. He came out and he was very prompt. He came in exactly when he said he was going to. I was very, very impressed with his demeanor, his honesty and his pricing. Everything was topnotch. I really, really like this guy. He was right on-time. He came out and helped me out again. I thought he was punctual again. It was the same kind of service twice. 

The problem with roof repairs is that everyone wants to either sell you a new roof or tear up large chunks of roof.  I invited three companies over to take a look.  The first one diagnosed my problem as a bad chimney flashing and wanted $1000.  The second guy said he could nail down the chimney flashing and seal some holes around the satellite dish.  He only wanted $600, but he couldn't get to us for two weeks.  Brian came out in a hurry and quickly identified the real problem.  The problem was that my 15 year old shingles were starting to get nail pops.  Water was pooling around them and seeping through the ceiling.  He caulked the affected shingles and then for good measure, caulked around the satellite dish.  
In and out within 30 minutes.  No drama.  No upsell.  I recommend him.

They were on time each day (2 days for a large roof.  They worked quietly (of course, except for the pounding).They cleaned up the area totally.   Price wise, Brian was reasonable.  He is very knowledgeable and courteous.  We received exactly the service that he described during his presentation.
I would certainly recommend Hefferan Roofing to anyone that wants a job wel done !!!!

We were in the process of selling our home and I contacted Hefferan to repair some missing shingles on our roof, which had to be in done before closing. They were so responsive, were sympathetic to the stress of meeting our buyer's needs and fair in price. Within a few days, the work was done and it was so completely painless. I had contacted other companies and either was turned down for the small job or they came out to quote and never delivered a final statement, so Hefferan definitely has a competitive advantage!

Mr. Hefferan showed up pormptly, examined my roof, diagnosed the problem, gave me  the cost, and made the repair immediately.  I couldn't have been more pleased.

Brian is professional, courteous and treated us with a great deal of respect.  I liked that he took the time to educate us on what materials he uses and why, showed us what he used on his own home, and didn't talk down to us.  He is a well respected roofer in the Arlington Heights area for many years, and runs his business like he means to stay in business for a long, long time. We had literally one little nail pop out and he was back on the ladder himself to fix it the next day.  He stands by his work and he and his crew do great work. You will see him on the job, not just a crew picked up somwhere, but his hand picked crew that he has used for years.

We've had other roofers at other homes and working with Hefferan Roofing was the best experience. (I wish he did siding and windows!!!)

Brian Hefferan was referred to me by the contractor I hired to install new siding on my house.  He told me that Brian, while not the least expensive roofer, was simply the best. Rather than write a long review I will simply say that while I am not a roofing expert, Brian and his crew did nothing to make he think otherwise.   Brian clearly explained to me what I needed, why my skylights needed to be replaced, why I needed more ventilation than I had, and why I didn't need to replace my gutters.  Another roofer told me that I could make an insurance claim for my roof, and Brian explained to me why that would be a waste of time since I had organic tiles that simply needed to be replaced (I filed a claim anyway and Brian was right - I got nothing). When I signed the contract he got the materials, got his crew to my house shortly thereafter, and after a 12+ hours of non-stop work, they were done.  By 8pm on the day they arrived I had a new roof, the yard was clean, and they were gone. I would highly recommend Hefferan Roofing to anyone.

Overall, I was very pleased with the work that was done. Brian was very responsive with the quoting process and with any questions and follow up that I had. The work was all completed in one day, the clean up was very good, the roof looks good and there have not been any problems. Hefferan was not the lowest bid (that's why the "B" rating for price), but they were competitive and I went with them because they have a good reputation for doing quality work and so far I have not been disappointed.

The Hefferan Roofing is very good, fast and very fair. I can say all good things about them and I will highly recommend them to all my family and friends. They are very good, do excellent work and if there is any problem, the owner himself comes out and fixes it right away. I will use them again in the future.

Brian was prompt, professional and delivered the new roof as promised. He was also considerate of mother's needs, keeping us informed along the way. We were very satisfied with the project.

They came out immediately (Oct 31st) to provide an estimate and though it was late in the year, were able to put on the new roof before winter. They finished when promised and cleaned up well.

PREVIOUSLY, 3 YEARS AGO OR SO, THEY REPLACED THE HOUSE ROOF. THERE WAS A PROBLEM THEY CORRECTED IMMEDIATELY WITH ONE PHONE CALL.
