When he came out to get an estimate on the price he took measurement of the steps he needed to replace. He said that I should get the paint so that I don't pay him for the time it takes to select paint. The day he and helper arrived to do work he re-measured the steps and then left for 1 1/2 hrs. to go to Home Depot for supplies. Home Depot is only about 10 min. from our home. When he finally returned I asked why he didn't have me buy the wood and he responded,"I didn't think you'd know how to pick boards that didn't have knots in them or that were straight". He only bought enough wood for 4 steps when there were clearly 5 steps that were rotted and should have replaced at least one more rotted kick-plate. He and assistant then proceeded to replace steps, kick-plates, prime steps and remove some foliage that would be in the way. After another 1 1/2 hours he then handed me a bill for 3 hrs. of work and said he'd come back next week to paint because he thought it was starting to rain.
