Water or Storm Damage Restoration, Fire or Smoke Damage Restoration + 2 more
Mitigator failed to test walls for moisture before determining proper treatment.
After calling and asking for moisture readings they then came back 4 days later and determined they were borderline so removed 2 ft of drywall and insulation.
Sprayed basement with antimicrobial treatment to keep mold from from growing.
Issues
Charged for work in bathroom they did not do. - later changed on bill (Trust factor now at zero)
Charged for drilling walls AND for cutting drywall even though they did not do proper tests on initial visit. Also 2 contractors and insurance adjuster all recommended drywall removal immediately based on amount of water and time water was in basement. (these guys are supposed to be experts at this???)
Overcharged for fans and humidifiers (claimed way more than was needed in this case). Insurance adjuster told me overcharges were in range of $300.
Contractor never told us they were charging Emergency After hour rates even though we scheduled base on there availability 3 days after flooding. (We had already done the majority of work removing water, moving furniture and all carpet and padding)
Contractor again charged After hour rates for second visit even though they were done during normal business hours.
Overall charges for amount of work done was highway robbery.
PS State Farm Insurance RECOMMENDED them and now will not cover all the charges!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
