We got water in our basement so I contacted our insuance broker who recommended Paul Davis. They were quick to send someone out who admitted that this was not what he normally did; he came out to assess the situation because they were so busy and he happened to live in the area. He said he couldn't give me an estimate, so when I asked for a "ballpark figure, worse case scenario", he said $3,000 - $5,000. He was way off the mark. When we finally got the invoice, it was for $12,000. Our insurance max is $15,000 so we basically have nothing left to repair our basement. Our finished basement no loner has a bathroom, concrete floor, and 2 feet of drywall and insulation removed all the way around. I would not recommend them and I have advised my insurance broker that they should no longer recommend them either.
