Vern Blue Construction

Overall, we felt Mr. Blue did a good job of physically installing our cabinets and hardware.  He did, however, chuck out a small section of two of the cabinet boxes (that we are unable to repair)--one eye level and one above our microhood. He installed one drawer hardware crooked, which my husband and I fixed by filling with hardening putty, staining and reapplying the handle. Under another cabinet, he drilled a hole for an electrical whip in the wrong place and did not repair it before attaching the cabinet to the wall so we are left with a hole under that cabinet and are not sure how to repair. While putting in our lazy susan, Mr. Blue scratched the hardwood floor and didn't advise us of it--we noticed after he left for the day. Also after leaving and upon opening our dishwasher, we noticed he installed a wood filler piece on the side of the dishwasher backwards, so the unfinished side is exposed with four screws visible. HE DID NOT AND WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED THAT HE WILL NOT finish the under cabinet trim or base shoe on the lower cabinets. As far as the microhood, we installed ourselves since he would not return our calls when it was delivered.

We recommend that you NEVER use this contractor. We should have known better when he forgot to show up to our house the first time he was scheduled for the installation (which my husband took time off work for). Each time we'd call, he would say to call him again to remind him. We were constantly calling, and he was never responding. Then when he would answer our call and give us a day, he wouldn't show up, once again either my husband or I would take off work and just wait. We are very disappointed because we trusted him based on a recommendation from Pat Richter at Richter Design Group and based on, believe it or not, people knew from our childhoods! Who would ever imagine we'd get screwed!
