Ken Simon was punctual and matter of fact about the basic system that would consist of a key fob, activation, a basic system (that included the master control panel, keypad, siren, backup battery, transformer, motion detector, door contacts and RJ31X phone jack), and monthly monitoring. The basic system key fob and activation was supposed to cost $69 and the 1 month of monitoring $25.99 for a total of $98.99. Well the check that went to Secure Pro was promptly cashed. Mr Simon took great time to explain to me that because I was a new home owner I had a good reason to be wary of how the install would go, etc. and that he would give me a call in a day or two when the installers would come out. I should have known better later when I saw that his name wasn't signed on the actual contract. His name was sure on the cashed check. I kept calling and he kept telling me he'd call back or that he would come out. He alternated his answers regularly. Finally after he wouldn't call. I involved the state's attorney's office. They couldn't find him to refund the check but have the business and his name on file. The office location actually alternated for a while between 2004 and 2005. I'm sure he's still operating in the area but everyone should be forewarned especially since he also gets your social security number and tries to pressure you for the AutoPay. This would mean access to your account to drain it! I changed accounts after his dishonesty. Inconvenient but necessary. I have subsequently had service with Brinks and ADT. He told the bank that I didn't pass the credit check and he couldn't give me service but he could give them no answer on why he couldn't return the check. Brinks and ADT are pretty strict so my credit could not have been that bad.
