I'm in a townhouse in Wheeling and my association hired Davis to install all new roofs in our complex. This was a major contract for them but they came in and did things as fast and cheaply as possible. After speaking to many neighbors, it is obvious that 50% of us have had problems and even though the roofs are under warranty, Davis is charging for repairs. This is the 4th time I had to call the association as there were water spots over my backdoor and going into my kitchen. One of the owners came over to inspect and walked in, took one look, and said it was from my skylights and it wasn't covered and turned to walk out. I had already seen where I thought it was coming in. I said " Bullshyt, it's right here" went to show him and he became agitated as words were spoken. He bullrushed me shaking his fist threatening to kick my a$$. He then tried to headbutt me but only hit my nose. As there was no blood or witnesses, the cops wouldn't do anything. I am now left without any solution due to Davis roofing even after being assaulted by the owner.

I interviewed 6 companies for this job. The first told me I should file insurance to have my roof replaced due to hail damage, and told me to do it immediately as they had a hail storm date within my area that was just under a year. My roof was 20 y/o. After larger hail storms a few years ago I had had my roof inspected and was told it was okay. So the next 5 companies I interviewed had a spectrum of opinions as to whether I should file for insurance. In the end I did not. I interviewed Davis Roofing and Construction first based on Angie’s List and Home Advisor good reports. Dan, an owner, spent considerable time with me, listened well, and gave helpful advice on my specific issues (types of attic fans, gutter placement). I liked that they had a crane to carry tear-off material to their truck. That was different. Their pricing was comparable to or better than similar quality products by other roofers. I was not disappointed with my choice to go with Davis. They stayed in touch regarding planned installation date/rain delays. Workers were friendly and professional, responsive to my questions. The roof and gutters look beautiful and the yard is as if they were never there (clean!). They will return in the spring for rain barrel installation. Happy camper!

Davis was priced in the middle of those I asked to quote. They were the only ones who took care of insuring my ventilation was good, and they quoted a higher end shingle. I have had multiple contractors over the years, and Davis has been the best. Personal attention, took care of some little things at no charge. Ownership on site to make sure I was happy. I had an issue on a plumbing vent that I wanted removed. They came out the same day and fixed it.
For any job there is price and quality which equals value. Davis is a high value contractor who takes the time to do it right.

Dan Davis himself came out to meet us and inspect the roof. He was pleasant and very professional. He sent an employee out a day or two later to measure and provide the quote. The day they were scheduled to do the work, I returned from work and asked my husband if they had showed up. Our yard was so clean that I could not even tell they had been there! Even weeks later, we found no bits of shingles or roofing nails lying around. Our new roof looks great and, even better, keeps us dry! The roofers also cleaned our gutters for free. I was very impressed with the work.

Good guy. They were perfect. They're professional, the pricing was just perfect, they came in, did their work and then they left. It's like they were never here. I think they did it perfect. I think they did a great job.

Davis Roofing recently re-roofed our house. Our house is about 50 years old and the previous owner did not maintain the roof very well, which made replacing the roof complicated. We had Davis roofing remove the roof including the decking (plywood under the shingles). To install the new roof, they installed new plywood decking, put on underlayments, new shingles, put in new flashing (which was tricky with the valley on our roof), and added vents.
The highlights of why I thought my experience with Davis Roofing was great are:
- Dan talked me through every detail of installing the roof, in person. Most other roofers just drove by and didn't want to talk, but our roof was complicated so I really wanted to talk to someone. Dan was very helpful and took the time to explain things to me.
- The roof has performed very well so far, it's already rained fairly hard and I've been in the attic and everything is firm without leaks.
- The job was done in a single day, which was impressive because they removed the decking, not just the shingles.
- The yard was extremely clean when they were done.
I would definitely use Dan and his crew again.

Davis Roofing performed their services admirably. The crew that did the actual work was exemplary. They worked hard, cared for my home while the construction was underway and carefully cleaned up afterward. The crew chief (Ian) made you feel very comfortable that the work would be completed properly and on time. If I had one criticism, it was the communication before the job. The weather (alot of rain) has made scheduling difficult for roofers - however, if there was one thing that could have been inproved it would be more proactive communication.

During a severe thunder and windstorm in late July 2012 my daughter came into my room and said water was leaking all over her bed. Sure enough the roof was leaking bucket fulls of water into her bedroom ( I collected almost 4 gallons of water during the storm).  Around 9 am in the morning I called Davis Roofing and after 2 rings the owner actually picked up the phone.  I explained what had happened to us and he told me he had a lot things going on with damage at 2 commercial jobs because of the storm last night but he assured me he would get back to me within 2 hours. I thought to myself if this company is doing large commercial jobs what does he want with my repair? Figuring he would never call me back I started to call other companies however all I got was a voice mail or a receptionist telling me they were extremely busy (because of last night's storm) and someone will call be back within a couple of days. Sure enough the owner of Davis Roofing called me back in a little over an hour and told me one of his supervisors Wolfgang would be out around 3 pm to see where the roof was leaking from. Wolfgang arrived (early) at 2:50 pm and questioned me briefly and then proceed to inspect the room where the water was leaking into, the exterior roof itself as well as the attic area to see specifically where the water was coming from.  After the inspection was complete he determend where the leak was coming from and fixed it.  He even found the time to inspect the complete roof and found a crack in one of the areas around one of my vents that was possibly leaking.  After he was done he told me to keep Davis Roofing in mind when we are ready to put a new roof on the house in another 2-3 years.  I was thinking I was making a temporary repair until I could get a new roof and this company is honest enough to tell me I can wait instead of taking advantage of me.
I was even more suprised when I recieved the invoice and it was only for $450.00! I ecxpected for the time and work that was performed the bill would have been 2-3 times that much. Davis Roofing exceeded my expectations in every way possible! They will definately be putting my new roof on in the near future!!
