Thomas and John Yundt (brothers) estimated that our two bathrooms would be completed in less than 2 months. After 7 weeks we had a completely nonfunctional, substandard and structurally unsound master bath while no work had begun on our second bath. Our mistake was that we trusted them when they offered a sizable discount to pay up front. We know now to NEVER EVER do that. They refused to refund work they did not perform. They further refused to refund poor workmanship carried out by John Yundt that failed to meet contractual specifications, for example the walk in master bath was spec'd at 72X36, and John Yundt build it at 72x26 without our knowledge. When the tiling was completed and the glass door was being measured the glass contractor said the width of the opening for the shower door would be 18" wide, no one knew what code was until I looked it up on the internet and found code is 22" At 18" the door would not open completely because the toilet would be in the way. John Yundt suggested a rubber bumper on the end of the toliet so the glass door would not bang into the seat, claiming "we do that all the time". John Yundt said the problem was our extended toliet was too long and that we needed to buy a new one. Our contract clearly stated keep existing toilets. We terminated the relationship and offered in writing to accept delivery of materials in their possession that were custom made for our bathrooms (cambria counter tops cost $7500 and sinks). During a phone call with Thomas Yundt he refused to authorize delivery of our countertops and sinks, and ended the call wiht "It aint gonna happen: and he hung up on me. They stole our money and closed there showroom in Arlington Heights. Even though they have closed thier business, I offer this review in the event anyone comes across the names John Yundt or Thomas P Yundt when contracting for cabinetry, bath or kitchen remodel. John Yundt is not a licensed electrician or plumber, and his brother Thomas has no decorating, cabinet making, or remodeling skill at all. In our opinion John Yundt and his brother Thomas Yundt are not of good character, they both lack integrity, they are dishonest, they are disrespectful and cannot be trusted.
