They only do grooming there. No daycare or boarding. They are really awesome. She got skunked four times. They took care of her every time. They are awesome. Just they not only do they help with the skunk smell dramatically. They got the dogs in on an short notice. They also gave me advise on how to get the skunk smell out of the house, and keep them out of the yard. They were just awesome.

Very pleased with this place. My boy cannot stand for long amounts of time which makes it difficult for the groomer to trim the areas I request but they still get the job done. He comes home trimmed, brushed, soft and pretty!

We'll give them five stars. The dogs have been there several times. They listen and they trim the dog as we requested. They're just very attentive and very caring about the animals. We like the way they treat the animals.

I'm sorry I don't remember the cost. They were very good there, very nice and the dogs were groomed nicely.

I had informed the staff that I was concerned that my usually mild-mannered dog might be dog-aggressive. I brought her in early to avoid the other dogs, I thought,. The place was full of other dogs. I left the dog as instructed. When I returned to pick her up, she was closed in another room and the staff proceeded to tell me how awful she was. "She even growled at other dogs while on the table". This all took place in front of other customers. I was embarrassed. I will not take my dog back to them. She was not well groomed.

I have an 18 year old Am Eskimo who desparately needed a bath. Given his age and arthritis, he requires delicate handling. I had an appointment a week before this Saturday but had to cancel due to his hips being bad. I rescheduled on Wed and had an issue with an eye injury. Then got him in on the following Saturday. Throughout, they were very accommodating with his injuries, made every effort to get him in on a "good day" and when there catered to his special needs. They "staged" him to avoid extended time on the table or in the bath and got him through as quickly as possible. I really appreciated their attention to his needs and assurance that his well being was their utmost concern. He handled it well and looked beautiful. They have a unique approach wtih dogs out loose, which removes a lot of the anxiety of being caged. All in all, they did a fantastic job, were extremely accommodating and sweet bear.

We love this place and so does our dog! We call it a "spa day" for him. The dogs are not cooped up in a crate...they are allowed to hang out with each other and the groomers which seems to make for a much more relaxing experience for the dogs.
My dog was quite hostile to groomers before due to several bad past experiences. The owner took my dog and personally worked with him to get him comfortable with the process again. They are very flexible and I've never had any trouble getting an appointment.
We've been using them for several years now and I have no plans to stop!

I'm not sure how to do this report. Back in July I took my Eskie for grooming. The owner did the intake and says my brother dropped off the dog and said "just shave him". Now, my brother has taken the dogs in many times and knows the breed should never be shaved and especially not my formerly beautiful boys. He said, she asked do you want us to clip him and he said "just bath him". He said they were very busy and she was very distracted. Sadly, they shaved my beautiful bear. When I went in ready to ring someone's neck we talked thru it and she did her best to make amends. I agreed to give her another try, which I did in Dec and they turned out great. Good news is she will never, ever shave my boys again. Bad news is his hair has never grown back. She has the dogs out loose in the shop which, I love. My younger dog is typically not nice around others but she has a way of making them relax and he did fine with her. I was very impressed with that and the work done in Dec was great. So, I will go back and recommend her to others just be sure you take time to be clear on what's to be done.

The Barker Shop is the ONLY place that we take our pets for grooming. Peggy and her staff are absolutely awesome! They treat our pets (they've groomed our 2 dogs and 1 of our cats) with love and kindness and it is always a great experience. We have a Chow Chow and a Shih-Tzu as well as a Himalayan cat.

I volunteer for an animal rescue, and we decided, almost at the last minute, to bring an additional foster to the show in Arlington Heights. He had been living in an outdoor run since September and had never been shown. My mission was to (hopefully) get him an adoption that weekend. I contacted The Barker Shoppe, which is close to the foster home, and they were able to squeeze him in early on Saturday morning (even though they were booked), and made the dog quite presentable for the pet show at 2:00 p.m. that day. The result? We have already received several applications for this dog, hopefully finding him his "fur-ever" home! I could not have done that without Peg and her caring staff!
