SJR Custom Painting

Sue and her team are the best. I can't think of anything else to say so I'll say it again. Sue and her team are excellent.

The work was started on schedule and completed on time. Sue & Jamie did an excellent job painting the trim, door and exterior of the house. Very professional, cleaned up every day and put supplies out of the way.

I needed to have my bathroom repainted.  Susan gave me a quote and I had her do the work.  She was on time, professional and did a very nice job on the bathroom.  Yes I will have her do more painting around my house.

One of the best paint jobs I've ever seen!!! The end result is fabulous! My fiance's house was in need of TLC of a good paint job as well as some wall repairs in the bathroom. SJR Painting is amazing! Sue came out and did an estimate and helped recommend paint colors. Her communication is awesome and I was so excited to have her do the job. Sue and her colleague arrived on time and did an outstanding job. The place looks great!!! It is truly amazing the difference a fresh coat of paint makes. The bathroom needed a lot of TLC and with a lot of effort from Sue, it turned out awesome. Looks like a brand new room. I highly recommend  Sue if you are looking for a great, neat, painter. Sue and her co-worker came right on time each day.  They worked straight through.  Completed the job within the week.  Very professional.  She was very thorough.  She cleaned up every day to make the house livable.  She cleaned up any mess entirely.  There was nothing but a beautifully painted space after she was complete, no spills or messes.  There were a few areas that needed repair and patching.  These areas are now flawless. 

Owner Sue and one of her team did a beautiful job, reinventing a room behind my garage and my adjoining utility room. She helped me choose the right color, accented by white trim, and when I came home after only 2 days, I was thrilled with how it turned out. Everything was clean, nothing for me to do but take it all in.

They were very meticulous about their work and always on time. They even finished earlier than originally estimated even after we added a bathroom for them to paint.  We are Extremely Happy that we chose SJR Painting to do the job for us.

Upfront note: Note: The reason I didn't comment on price is SJR was a subcontractor and I don't know what her actual cost was but the overall job was very competitively priced so it would be safe to assume the painting portion was reasonable.
This was the second time "SJR" has done work at my home and the second time I could write a novel on the incredible quality, professionalism and so on. Sue, the owner, is an artist, and goes so far beyond "painting". The work is detailed, the lines are perfectly straight and the attention to detail is fantastic. In my case I need lots of help with design and colors  and her suggestions turned into beauty. She is always willing to answer questions an offer suggestions but only if asked - respect for what ever the customer wants is first and foremost. The crew is punctual and their clean up left the space cleaner than it was when they got there. SJR will definitely be invited back.

WOW ... and "WOW" could summarize the entire review.
I never realized how much the correct paint, painter and sharp lines could add such character to a small space.
First off, Sue went beyond punctual; she came extremely early so my daughter could help pick colors before she left for school. I personally have no vision and left it to Sue to choose for me.  I stopped in on lunch and saw her and her helper expertly cut sharp lines around door knobs and obstacles without any need for tape. The colors in my daughter's room just popped, it was simply vibrant ... a word I have never used in a sentence before! Instead of paint on a wall, the bathroom had character. My bathroom exceeded all my expectations.
Feels odd to comment like this because I just never thought it could make that much difference ... I have had rooms painted before (myself and by others) and ... well ... they looked like nice freshly painted rooms. Sue really made them look like pictures from Better homes and Garden. A couple hours later, I came home from work, the job was done, the rooms were perfectly clean and it looked like a model home.
 I can't comment on price as Sue was a subcontractor and her fee was included in the overall price of the re-models but I can tell you she and the service provided was the perfect finishing touch that brought everything else together. It really was the make ( in the make or break) of the project.
I will DEFINITELY recommend her and be calling for more work soon.

I would recommend SJR Custom Paiting again and again.  What I thought would be a simple project ended up a lot worse than I thought.  It seems that our walls had  A LOT of holes from the prior owners AND  the walls were not even.  SJR took so much time and made sure to even out the walls, fill all the holes and prime all the walls to make them look fantastic without the paint!!  A project unexpected but they did the work with a smile on their face.  Sue and her crew even painted the ceiling on top of all the extra work done on the first day of the job.  I have a built in book case and fire place that they caucked in and how amazing they made both the bookcase and fireplace look.  Both just pop and what a difference the paint job has made to my living room.               

Sue Rudny is an amazing person.  She was so wonderful assisting me with picking out paint colors and determine my choice in colors when I was clueless in what I wanted.  I can not thank her enough.  She is more than your vendor and your painter.  Sue turns into your friend.  I would suggest SJR Custom Painting to anyone wanting anything painted inside or outside of your house.  Sue and her team really take care of your needs and what you are looking for and what you want. 

I will be calling Sue again and again and will never ask anyone else to paint in my house again!!!

Sue's estimate was very competitive.  She set a start date and was at our house on time both days.  Each night she and her assistant cleaned up - you could never tell they were in the house doing any work !!  We have her coming back to do some other rooms in our house as we are very happy with her work.

SJR Custom Painting was clean, professional and completed job on time.  Owner very helpful and knowledgable. Very happy with color recommendation and overall job. Price more than fair.  Would highly recommend and definitely use again.

Sue is truly amazing and I would recommend her to any one!!  She came to meet with us prior to doing the work to help us select colors for the paints.  It was clear that she has a lot of experience and has an eye for design.  I was pretty overwhelmed with how to select colors as the whole project required so many decisions and at the finish line, color becomes so important.  Sue showed that she really understands how to make a room really pop with the proper color!  I don't think an interior designer could have done any better in terms of the color choices.
Sue came with a helper, and both were extremely polite, friendly, and professional.  They made sure to not track dirt into the house, and they covered everything and kept their work area completely clean.  They also did the work much more quickly than I expected!  We also had an issue with a drywall patch caused by a mistake the electrician made when hanging the wall sconces.  Sue made sure this was sanded and repaired perfectly, you can't even tell the patch is there.  One other thing; we made a mistake and bought the wrong trim so that put the painting behind schedule.  Sue and her helper made an extra trip to pick-up the correct trim for us and didn't even charge us for that; I was so impressed by their work ethic.
All in all, completely wonderful, I can't say anything bad at all; Sue has an eye for color and is a absolute perfectionist when it comes to her painting.  The two bathrooms look like magazine pictures, I LOVE the color and quality of the painting.   Sue also provides great customer service and is so professional.  I tend to value tradespeople who are highly skilled and experienced, and I am willing to pay for that.  That being said, I thought her prices for the amount of work involved in this project were completely reasonable.  I will be using her for upcoming projects down the road.
