From the beginning Steve was upfront and provided us with ideas on how to transform or basement into a great living area. He was quick to call back when I had any questions. The entire process was smooth and we couldn't be happier.

We started with a computerized design session. once we agreed on the design, they decondtucted the existing kitchen. The installed all new cabinets, sink, dishwasher, exhaust fan/ stove light, lighting, quartz counter tops, and tile backsplash. The kitchen turned out beautifully and we will use them again when we decide to redo our bathrooms.

I have a 28 year old home that they forgot to double up the joists under a load supporting wall. The problem is the floor sunk 1.25 inches over the span of the joist because of the pressure. I first hired a structural engineer to determine the problem and he found that the load supporting wall was on top of a single joist. I then began to bid out contractors to do to work. I had 4 bids. Donato Construction was the second most expensive but I went with Steve Donato because I liked the approach he took. He told me the problem began 28 years ago when the house was built, it should not be fixed in just a day. Also he was the only one who returned phone calls.
Steve put 5 jacks in my basement and slowly each day jacked the joists up 1/16 to 1/4 of an inch a day, depending on the jack or the placement. It was a unique experience watching my floor over a few weeks raise. As the floor raise, one large settling crack began to close. Some others started to form but this was to be expected.
Once the joist was in place it needed to be supported. On that joist they supported it with something called a microlam or a gluelam and a 1/2 piece of steel about the same size as the joist. A gluelam is essentialy a 3and quot; thick 2X10 that is the same length as the joist resting on the center column and the foundation wall. After this was put in, my floor is flat, level and does not squeak.
One explanation I wish to give, I put and quot;Band quot; for the price because the range of prices I got was from $2000-$4000 and their price was $3700. I am not the least bit upset paying the $3700, I willingly entered the contract knowing the cost and was and still am happily paying it.

The job went as expected. The work was done very professionally. The staff was responsive and made suggestions for improvements. We acepted all the suggestions and the kitchen turned out beautifully. When we realized that we needed additional lighting over the sink, they made some great suggestions the really added a very nice touch. They always left the house very clean after a long day of work. I recommend these guys for any remodeling prokect.

Excellent! Steve and his men were all courteous and professional. They worked hard with quality results. They made sure the work was done the way we wanted it done, and were patient when we were being indecisive. They even helped with additional handyman-type work. We will definitely call them for any future remodeling (and handyman) projects!
