It went very well. The Shredd Authority gentlemen were all very nice and professional.
The only issue is location, they are on the south side of Chicago, I live Northwest.
This was an Angie's Deal, however in the "Deal" it never mentioned that there was not a pick up service nor did it mention the vendor location.
- I didn't use the service and was disappointed they moved from the city to Alsip. This change of location was inconvenient and the good deal no longer was a good deal when it wasn't used and I was out the money.
"Hi [member name removed], Thank you for you review and for choosing The Shred Authority for your document destruction needs. Please let us know if we can do anything else for you. We appreciate your business. Thanks again. - Jazmine O."
At that address there was a sign stating that they had moved to their other location at 4101 W. 124th Place in Alsip, Illinois.
So I turned around and went to that address.
When I got there I saw 2 Shred Authority trucks but no designated parking for Shred Authority so I parked by one of those trucks. I also had to ask (there were 2 men working nearby) where the entrance was located.
When I entered the building it was dark and I couldn't tell what kind of business this was. Went all the way back until I saw what looked like an industrial elevator and asked the person in it where was The Shred Authority? After peaking through various doors I found Mr. Landry.
He said they were still getting things organized since the move. That was evident because there was furniture and equipment out of place.
After unloading the 8 bankers boxes from my car and putting them on a cart that was by the back door I asked if I could see the boxes shredded. He said I could not because the building was not set up and running yet. I told him I was concerned for my documents and he reassured me that they were secure. That is their business. "That is what we DO," he said.
We went back to his office so he could give me a receipt. The paper says that the boxes have been destroyed utilizing "Pierce and Tear". But again not while I was there. Hopefully in the coming days when things are up and running they will.
Before I left I asked if the boxes were secure on that cart by the back door? He said not to worry; he was going to get them and that things are secure.
I would have given a much better rating if things had been up and running. I wish I had known they were moving. I would have waited in order to feel more secure that my documents were in teeny tiny pieces by now.
I'm putting my trust in them because they are on Angie's List, they are an accredited BBB business, and is NAID Certified.
"Hi [removed member name], Thank you for the review. My apologies for the disarray during our move. Be rest assured that your material was shredded in thorough and ecologically friendly manner. Feel free to contact me directly with any future concerns. Best regards, John Landry"
