Apparently, this company was recently sold to another company, as they had me make out the check to a different business name. Also, the tech mis-charged me the first time I wrote a check, and came back to collect more money after realizing his error, but before I finished my investigation outlined below. Tech came out as we were having issues with one of our garage doors closing. He said that he tracked to to the photo ey, so he decided to replace the pair on that door. Since he was going to replace one set, and we have had issues with both doors in the past, he replaced both units. So far, no issues. However, when installing the new reverse sensors, the tech that was sent out was unable to get my door to work as it did before the repair. I have an outside wired keypad (not wireless). He didn't understand the issues he was having and made several calls to his supervisor. I had to come home from work to help troubleshoot, as he was unable to get the door to function correctly. I came home and he kept having me type in my code while pressing the "learn" button on the opener. Not working. More calls. I was confused why I had to keep typing the code, when there was an inside open/close button on the box from the hardwired unit. Pressing this did no good. More calls, nothing working. An hour and a half later, I started to look at what he had been doing. I noticed that he put a new wire in from the button by the door to the house that runs to the opener. He said he thought that was causing some of my issues when I asked why he did that. This button had been functioning fine prior to this work starting. He installed the new wire with staples across the ceiling to my opener, even though the old wire went up into the attic above the garage and back down to the opener. A cosmetic issue, but not horrible. Then I followed the wire over to the opener, and notice that there are a bunch of other wires that are hanging down by this opener that used to be connected. I begin to grow concerned that the tech has been mucking around with the wiring, and this is the reason for the issues with being unable to use the keypad. I'm also now concerned that I may have just paid for new sensor that I don't need, based on the level of incompetence he is showing in dealing with the door opener electronics. I finally tell the tech to leave, as I don't want him touching anything else. He did not seem to understand the functions on the garage door opener, nor had he even seen an exterior keypad, so I am concerned about what he has been "trying to do". I go back and rewire the old wire to the button next to the door into my house, and pull down the "new" stapled wire, going back to my original wiring scheme. I then get on my ladder and sort through the wires that are hanging next to the unit. I find the wire that runs from the outside keypad, and reconnect it. He apparently didn't know what this wire did so he left it off after re-wiring the button next to the door to the house. I find the wire from the button next to the door into the house, and reconnect that one as well. If I still had the photo eyes, I would have reinstalled those, but he has taken the old units with him when he left. Presto! Everything works! But I've just undone half of the work that the tech charged me to do, and now I am concerned that I have been charged for work and parts that were not necessary! Needless to say, I'm a bit concerned about being overcharged. So, I call the owner (Ali). We play a bit of phone tag, but he is very apologetic and wants to make this right. Great! He says he will be in my area on Saturday the 30th and will call me before he comes over, and we will go through everything that I have outlined here. I stay home Saturday, since he is going to call. Guess what? No call. No further follow ups. He has my cell number, so I haven't missed the call. He just left my hanging. Used to be a great company, and I had no issues with the previous owner (per my previous review of Garage Doctor). The new owners have untrained staff and little to no customer service. Bottom line - DON'T USE THESE GUYS!!!
