"We apologize that we were unable to schedule an appointment for this potential client. We received hundreds of requests for evaluations each month and are not able to view all items in person. We always ask for a few photographs of items clients are wishing to ensure that the items are appropriate for auction and if so, that we may send the correct expert out to look at the items. The client declined to send photographs and we regrettably were not able to schedule an appointment."
"We thank [member name removed] for her feedback. We offer a free auction estimate before consigning items to our sales. This estimate is to provide potential clients with an idea of what we feel their items will sell for at auction. As auction results vary greatly, we like to provide as much information to our clients before they decide to sell at auction. In this case, the client had a very nice set of china that they wished to sell. As nice of a set as we felt it was, in the current auction market china services have been doing very poorly and the price garnered at auction is often far less than the expected value. [member name removed] was not happy with our estimates and while we are sorry that the estimates were not in line her expectations we would much prefer to provide the information up front so that the client does not have a disappointing auction sale. We wish [member name removed] the best in selling her china set and recommend trying [hyperlink removed] or [hyperlink removed] as possible sale venues."
"We are sorry that our client was disappointed with our services. After checking our records, the client consigned two small tables to our July 21, 2013 auction. The tables were estimated to sell in the $80-100 range. Auctions are not always predictable and these tables sold for $40 which was less than our estimated range. We are typically within our estimate range approximately 65%-70% of the time with the remaining items selling for more or less than our estimate. As much was we try to be as accurate as possible, items do not always sell at auction for their estimated value. We feel that the items were accurately represented and photographed well (please see the catalog listing at [hyperlink removed]). We have not heard directly from the client but welcome all feedback as we always strive to improve our service."
