Jeff was very professional and excellent to work with. He was very knowledgeable and took the time to explain what steps he took and broke down the services preformed. He listened while other issues were explained and brought up options to fix them. He called before purchasing the part to give recommendations on quality versus price on the parts needed and a quote on the installation.

Jeff is awesome! He is incredibly reasonably priced and extremely good at what he does. He works out of his own shop, he doesn't have a secretary to answer his phone calls so sometimes it may take him a bit to get back to you but not having to pay someone to answer the phone (when you really want to talk to the guy working on your car anyway) help keep the price of repairs to a minimum.  Jeff is honest and he goes above and beyond with his customer service.

I am a mobile mechanic in twin falls and had an issue that needed specialized tools I did not normally carry and Jeff made the event painless for me - so great to chat with him and knock it out in no time!

Jeff was very professional and had a good level of communication throughout the process. He is busy, and I had to wait a couple weeks before he could take my truck but it was worth the wait. He had the engine steam cleaned and called me with a preliminary diagnosis within a couple hours of dropping off the vehicle. Communicated all issues effectively and notified before performing any work that was expensive. I also like that he did things like flushing the coolant system and changing spark plugs that only cost a little extra now but will save a lot of money in the future. I have been looking for a good mechanic that I can trust for a long time and I think I have finally found that in Jeff. As long as I'm in Twin Falls he'll be performing any work that needs done on my vehicles. Highly recommended!

At the outset, Jeff was very fair about diagnosing the mechanical problem. After it was discovered that I needed a new engine, Jeff was very thorough in discussing all of my options (i.e. rebuild the existing engine; or buy a used engine; or buy a remanufactured engine with warranty). Ultimately i chose to have Jeff install a remanufactured engine. As Jeff proceeded with the work he discovered a few additional items that needed to be fixed that were not included in his original estimate (which is to be expected when working on a 30 plus year old vehicle), but he was very good about contacting me and discussing what he had found. I am very happy with the final product. The pickup truck runs like new.

Jeff actually just prior to this work performed a complete "conversion" of my previously stock 1938 Chevy with original 6 cylinder engine and drivetrain. The completed product was a rebuilt '61 Corvette283 w/350/350HP Camshaft, Headers and 625 4bbl and TH350 Automatic Transmission and 3.08 Rearend. And, all New Fire Wall, Front Floorpans, Independant Front Suspension, Rear Suspension, Radiator, Gas Tank, 12 V Wiring Harness/Electrical, Headlights, Power Brakes, Taillights, Air Conditioning, Power Steering, Gauges, Steering Wheel, Dashpanel, Window Glass, and CustomExhaust.Jeff's professionalism, honesty and integrity and his attention to detail and complete knowledge of everything that had to be considered and required to all but completely re-build this car was incredible.

Jeff is really a great mechanic and, equally as important to me, he is a good and honest human being. He goes out of his way to get me the best deal on parts and always calls for authorization before doing any expensive repairs that might be outside of my ability to afford. He has also gone above and beyond to make sure I have a ride to and from if necessary as I am single and only have one car.
Having a trustworthy mechanic available brings my stress level down quite a bit, so I feel quite fortunate to have discovered Jeff Askew. You will not find anyone more pleasant, honest, and straightforward out there!

I called Jeff to have him get my dad's truck running and safe after sitting for several years. He fixed the axle seals, replaced the battery, rebuilt the Carb, replaced rear brakes, replaced the master cylinder, changed all fluids, replaced plugs and wires, cap and rotor. Even when I told him money did not matter when fixing my dads truck. Jeff shared a few stories about his dad and his trucks. He knew how much this truck meant to me. Then when he handed me the bill on the truck I felt like there is no way I could have had all these things done so cheap. But I knew that Jeff cared about people more then he cared about making big money. Any other shop would have screw me when I said money did not matter. That's why I will see Jeff for all my repair needs. Jeff, your shop is the best.

I have had Jeff as my personal mechanic since 2002 and he is the only mechanic that will touch my vehicles. His prices on parts and labor are very affordable. He is straight forward and honest. This visit was for a power steering hose leaking. I called Jeff and told him that it was leaking. Even with his busy schedule. He said bring it out and he will look at it and get me prices. Within 10-15 minutes after arriving at the shop I had the price of the parts and labor. He called several part stores to make sure he got me the best price and quality part. I have referred all my friends and family members to Jeff. Even customers of mine have been sent to Jeff and have nothing but good to say about him and his shop. If you are looking for a mechanic who goes up and beyond, makes sure your problem is fixed right the first time, makes sure it does not hit your pocket book too hard then look no further.

Vehicles of mine he has worked on: 1996 Titan Custom Chopper, 2002 Chevrolet Crew Cab, 1978 Ford F-100, 2006 Dodge Magnum, 2001 GMC Crew Cab, 2007 Dodge Mega Cab, 2001 Ford Escape.

Jeff provided us with excellent service, We were visiting from Arizona and my husband noticed that the hubs on our Ford Bronco were hot to the touch, after decusing the problem with my brother, He suggested Jeff my brother and his wife have been going out to Jeff for about 5 years, we felt we could trust this person because my brother and his wife have 4 vehicles to which Jeff has done repairs such as New engine and cluch on my sister in laws Chevy 1500, Front wheel bearing and breaks on a 1969 Chevy C10 pickup , Ford Pickup 250 for front wheel bearing on 4 wheel drive, master cyclender and all the u-joints on the drive line, and if that not enough reason to use Jeff they took their 1953 Jeep Willy for a complete exhaust system, So as far as I concern Jeff is one of the best and reasonable priced auto services in Twin Falls Idaho, Thanks for being there Jeff when we needed you we will feel safer going home to Arizona

I had a block that was supposed to be a 350 block that needed all the new parts installed into it so I could have a nice fresh engine for my project jeep. I put myself on a budget and originally had decided to put it together myself. The more I thought about it the more I thought that a few hundred extra to have a "professional" put it together would be worth it. I was doing some searches on Craigslist and found a local man who had some already assembled 350 engines and so I hit him up wondering if we could make a deal on a trade of some sort. He told me just to bring my parts out and he would give me an idea of what it would cost to have it all put together. Right off the bat I had the wrong block, that was my fault for not making sure of what I had so he had to hunt a block down for me. That cost me $150 on top of what I thought that I was going to spend, but again that was my fault. So it seemed to take him forever to put this engine together, it was atleast a couple of months. I figured given that amount of time that I would have a pretty sweet running engine. So I finally got the call and he said it was ready to pick up and I made an appointment to go get it. I pulled in and nobody was home. I waited for over an hour, I called his cell quite a few times without an answer. Come to find out his daughter had had an accident, but didn't care enough about my little project to take half a minute to let me know what was going on. He didn't care that he was wasting my time as I stood out in the cold waiting around for him. So I waited around for him for over an hour for him to get back because he lives at least 25 miles from me. So I got my engine and was prepping it to put it in my jeep when I discovered that there was an exhaust manifold bolt broken off in the engine. This had to be removed in order for me to install the exhaust correctly. He had been bragging the entire time I was working with him of how he has 25 years of experience and an associates degree in applied science for this stuff. You would figure that he would at least notice and take care of a problem such as a broken off bolt. He is certainly more equipped to do it than I am, he owns a machine shop for heaven's sake! So I called him on it, he had no apology and said I quote, "drill baby drill." He had no intention of helping me out with what should have already been taken care of. It took me an entire day if not more to get it fixed with what little equipment that I own to do such a task, that is why I took it to the "professional" to begin with! So my engine was finally ready to put in, it went in without a hitch and I got it started and ran it long enough at the proper RPMs to break in the camshaft. After I had everything where it needed to be and ready to run it down the road I started to notice that the engine had a noise that didn't seem right for a new rebuild. IT WAS KNOCKING! I couldn't believe it. I called him up and told him that it had a noise, in his normal condescending tone he proceeded to tell me that it was probably an exhaust leak or that I had a vacuum leak causing the engine to ping. I have been around engines for long enough to know that this was not the case. He had overlooked something or cut corners and thought that I would never notice because he thinks that everyone around him are complete rookies with engines. It is just my gut feeling that he purposely cut a corner to save him a few bucks. I didn't want to pull the engine very badly without having him listen to it. He by no means offered to come out and have a listen even though it was his build and his reputation to save. So I called him up and told him that I was going to drive it to town and I wanted to have him listen to it. He tinkered around with it and hastily and seemingly annoyed told me that "this engine has to come out." It was his fault that it was knocking yet he made it my problem, the thought I am sure never crossed his mind that it should be his responsibility to take my engine out this time since it was his incompetence that caused it to need to be pulled in the first place. I gritted my teeth and smiled and told him that I would have it out to him asap. He took it apart and looked it over and assured me that there was nothing wrong with it. He even told me that he took it down to another machine shop for a second opinion. This I am highly doubting that he did. I think that he told me this just so that I wouldn't go out and get my own second opinion and have them find something wrong. He told me just to put it back in and run it. If something happened he would try and make it right. He gave me my engine back in pieces, I told him that I did not appreciate it one bit. Again it was his fault that it needed taken apart in the first place, why should I have to put parts of it back together? Not only that but he misplaced some of the bolts I needed and I had to go get new ones and he failed to give me back my oil dipstick. This man is very unorganized, careless, and unprofessional. He cares nothing about customers and their time or money. My engine still knocks and drives me insane. He has offered to put me a new engine together if I would pay for parts he would charge me very little in labor. Why should I have to pay him anything to get my engine fixed correctly? He does not stand behind his work in the least bit. If he was worried about his reputation or a good businessman at all he would have pulled my engine and made it right even if he had to take a little bit of a loss on the deal. He has no standards at all. He has a filthy mouth, he cusses like a sailor. He is disrespectful. I just called him up today to clarify a few things on another unrelated project. I brought up my engine and he started to get heated and I think by the slip of his tongue he said, " you couldn't afford to have that engine built right." The way I took it is that he was telling me that since I told him I was trying to stay on a budget he cut as many corners as he could just to get me an engine that runs even though it was not done correctly. After some more heated words from him and him interrupting me constantly he hung up on me. He is a swindler and a con artist in my book. I would not use this man for any mechanical project whatsoever.
