Mark and Heather, husband and wife, provided excellent service. They patiently explained their services and fees. They are very polite and really care about their customers.

This is our first year trying Tucker?s Timber and so far, so great. We heat entirely with a wood stove and have struggled to find a firewood supplier that stays in business for longer than a year and is also trustworthy. We?ve been really pleased with Mark and Heather so far. They?re knowledgeable about different woods and how well they burn, promptly return calls, promptly delivered our order, were clear and up front about their prices, and were the first ones we?ve found that actually delivered FULL, CLEARLY STACKED CORDS. Their prices are a little higher but we got burned last year buying cheap from a guy with a jumbled pile in the back of his truck whom, we discovered, shorted us almost half a cord by the time we stacked it and then wouldn?t return our calls. We had to buy the extra wood from someone else and it wound up costing more than we paid this year even with the higher prices. The old maxim ?You get what you pay for? was certainly true for us. Live and learn.
Also, we?ve been using red fir for years but prices have really gone up and it?s been getting harder to source. Mark educated me on the BTUs of juniper wood versus red fir and we?ve decided to try a half cord this year to see how it works. There was no pressure from his side, just a friendly discussion where I learned something valuable, which I really appreciated. In general I dislike being ?sold.?
The surprise was that they charge sales tax, a fact that, I admit, I chewed on at first, mainly because I never realized that everyone else doesn?t. Dodging taxes definitely helps keep prices down. But Mark and Heather are working to set up a legitimate business to run for the long haul and doing everything
right and fair, which I respect. A lot. It?s hard for me to put a price on trust, especially after last year?s fiasco. You?ll make your own choice of course. We highly recommend them.
