NATURE'S MAGIC

The problem is that the pump didn't last very long, especially since I didn't use it very often, and the water didn't seem to remain at the same level for very long after I filled it, so apparently there is a leak somewhere. I "winterized" the water feature as instructed, submerging a heater inside the barrel to keep the water from freezing, and not using the pump all winter. I started to use it again in May 2016, but the pump didn't start at first, so I though it was broken. It finally turned on by itself, but with much increased noise, so I knew it was failing. The pump was under a 1-year warranty, so I called Brian, the owner of Nature's Magic, who said he'd take a look that afternoon. He never showed up and never called, and never returned my repeated calls. I ended up calling a reputable landscaper to take a look and he told me the pump was a cheap sump pump that is not designed for landscape usage. He also told me the whole feature needed to be re-done for the same price I paid Nature's Magic, with techniques that make much more sense now that I know what was done wrong. The new landscaper is scheduled to do the work in late July 2016, as he has excellent references. Nature's Magic had none, but their price was half the others' bids. Lesson learned. i also filed a complaint with the BBB.
