Overall we had a very good experience with Yellowstone Lumber's drafting service.  We live out of state and wanted to get blueprints made, however the going rate for drafting her seemed quite high. Besides that we wanted a home with an ICF basement.  Basements are very uncommon in our area and we wanted to use a designer with extensive basement experience.  Some relatives who live in the local area in Idaho recommended Yellowstone Lumber.
We gave our sketches to Darin to work with. He did a very good job and designing the home we envisioned.  He made some very good suggestions to improve design and cut cost yet still maintained our vision. The finished blueprints were all computer generated and were neat and professional. The man at the building permit office was impressed.  Better yet, the price of the blueprints was more than half of what we had quoted from local draftsmen/designers.  We actually never saw Darin face to face. We handled all correspondence over the phone and via email.
The final product was excellent, however sometimes communication was a problem. The email system Yellowstone Lumber used would sometimes not let our emails and attachments through and sometimes we didn't get correspondence sent from our designer.  We worked around this by always calling to confirm that correspondence got through.  The project also took longer than we had originally been quoted.  Apparently the fall is the busiest time of the year for drafting blueprints in SE Idaho. We would have liked to get the plans sooner, however we wanted the final product to be done right no matter how long it took.
I would recommend using Yellowstone Lumber's drafting services if you are looking for bargain for blueprints. They have done drafted building blueprints for clients all around the world. You don't need to see them face to face. If  you are not in a big hurry they can give you great plans for a great price.
