The day of the original installation in 2006, I came home from work to find the main floor of our home a mess. The installer had chosen to cut the granite in the kitchen rather than outside in his truck. This was not some minor cutting that could be required but a major cut. There was granite dust everyone on the main floor. It was on the bookshelves (both top and bottom of shelves) and everywhere the dust could end up. It took my wife and I hours of work to clean up the mess and the Great Floors rep we complained to essentially shrugged his shoulders. The installer then told us the granite he cut for the master bath was not going to work and blamed us for having a ?non standard? counter frame that was 3? in depth too short. He blamed it on us. When I reminded him that he had made a trip to our house and made templates of all the sinks he didn?t have much to say. In addition to this issue with the granite, the tile installer was surly because it took hime farther longer than Great Floors anticipated the remove the old vinyl floor in 3 of the 4 rooms that he was installing the tile floors in. When working in the kitchen, he sat his paste can in the new stainless steel sink leaving round rings from where he would turn the can to get the paste. We complained to the Great Floors rep about all of this and he simply said the tell the installers what they were doing wrong. These were his subs, not ours. In July of 2015 we discovered a full split in the granite behind the stove top. The granite was not supposed to split and we called Great Floors. They asked us to deal directly with their Post Falls operation which I tried to do. I left one message for Sarah and received no return call. My second call, I was able to reach her and she promised profusely that she would get someone to fix it and would call me back on Monday, July 20th but absolutely no later than July 21, 2015. I?ve never heard from her again. I realize the installation work is old but?s it?s related to the current issue and indicative of the work that Great Floors promises but doesn?t deliver.
Description of Work: They originally installed new granite counters in our kitchen, powder room and master bathroom. They also installed new sinks and hardware in the kitchen and master bathroom, along with new tile floors in 4 rooms. The original work was done in June and July of 2006. They were contacted again this month (July of 2015) for a break in the granite counter that was not supposed to be able to occur.
