Love these guys!! They moved in and mounted a 2000 lb safe like it was nothing. Second time I have used them and both times I was not disappointed!! I will recommend them to anyone who needs anything moved!!

d to move furniture ONLY, it took them 4 hours (including and hours worth of chit chat) and they overcharged me $5.00 per hour over the quoted fee and damaged a couple of pieces. I liked them, they were nice guys, but I certainly thought they would deduct the chit chat time from their fee and I know the location they had to move furniture too was difficult, but isn't that their job? I certainly did not expect to be overcharged and did expect some sort of credit for their tardiness!

The company provided a three-man crew who maintained a happy attitude throughout the entire job. One man whistled while he worked and another sang a tune while moving the safe. What a crew. but they better keep their day job of moving. They may not make it onto the stage in Nashville as the "singing movers" but again, maybe they could since they are young, energetic and have all the right "moves"!.

Took 8 hours! Great guys but too slow and they damaged my 6k Baker chair (2 chunks of wood out of the back feet) one I found the chunk and glued back on but the smaller piece is gone :(
They knocked the thermostat off the wall and broke it, it was put back on and they never told me. We stayed in the house for our first night and NO HEAT! They did put the bed together after I went and got the bolts as the hardware was missing, they neglected to have me get all the bolts so the metal slats aren't secure and I will have to disassemble the bed and get the bolt size then fix it. Not their fault the hardware is missing but they owner who was here had a store that sells beds so he know what all is involved.
I called them a day or two later to let them know I was unhappy but the gal didn't do anything and no response from them. The didn't even offer to pay for the broken thermostat! Had to find someone on a Saturday to install one during a Birthday celebration... Ugh!!

American Moving gave me a quote to move from Post Falls, Idaho to Boise, Idaho. Mike Lasher, the owner seemed like a nice guy. On the day of the move the movers were sloppy, for example: packed up my sleep number bed and left the casters on the floor in my bedroom instead of packing them with the bed. When I pointed this out they seemed annoyed. I assumed they boxed the bed which is what I asked them to do but I found out later they did not. They shoved them into the mattress and somehow broke one of the casters which I had to pay to replace.
Towards the end of the day Mike told me that "they didn't have a big enough truck and would have to repack my stuff into a bigger truck that night." Okay, Mike came over and looked at what I had a few weeks before and should have known what size of truck they needed. That made me nervous because it was late afternoon and I had a hotel reservation I had to make it to in order to have a place to sleep for that night. I did not like the idea of them removing my items and repacking them without me being there. I really had no choice because I had to get on the road as it was already after 4pm.
I drove to Boise the next day and was scheduled to meet the movers at Republic Storage the following morning. I told them to put boxes marked in RED to the front of the storage because those were items I needed right away.
The next day I went into the storage to get my stuff and realized that they put some boxes marked with red in the front but most in the back behind large furniture where I couldn't get to it. Also, American Movers REPACKED A BUNCH OF MY BOXES! How creepy is that? I labeled each and every box and then I saw that they emptied boxes and shoved my items into other boxes and then taped them back up! Who wants people pawing through your personal belongings? All of my boxes were labeled and taped. This was really sickening to see. Not only did I not know what was in what box anymore they shoved the items into boxes so carelessly and taped them back up so sloppily that it was shocking.
I was furious. I called Mike Lasher and complained. I asked him to pay for the movers in Boise I had to hire to rearrange the storage unit the correct way (I initially got a huge unit so that I would be able to access stuff so there was no reason for his movers to be so careless and lazy and not simply put the red labeled boxes in the front). He and his office staff person also tried to tell me that the movers said they didn't repack my stuff and that they organized it like I had asked - liars. I told him that I had pictures to prove it. I also have pictures to show that I had to hire another moving company to reorganize my storage.
He finally agreed to pay me back the few hundred bucks but his office staff treated me like dirt. She acted like I was the bad guy and took her sweet time mailing me my check. She was rude to me when I called to ask about my refund which took almost a month.
I would never use this company again and have had a few friends move down from Post Falls and I told them NEVER use this company and they didn't.
Here is why I am writing this review almost 4 months later: I finally moved into a home. I had local movers move everything out of storage and now I see other problems with American Movers. I feel I should warn people so they never experience these unprofessional people.
So, Mike Lasher, where are my missing items? Did you not have room in the bigger truck so you just tossed them out? Did you break them and decide not to tell me? Did your movers steal them?
My advice is to never use this company. They do not know what they are doing and don't care. I have moved several times in my life and have never been this unhappy or disgusted with a moving company that advertises themselves as experienced professionals. I can't imagine what would happen if they had to move a piano for someone. Makes me cringe. § 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 0 - = Backspace Tab q w e r t y u i o p [ ] Return capslock a s d f g h j k l ; ' \ shift ` z x c v b n m , . / shift English Deutsch Español Français Italiano Português ??????? alt alt Preferences

- I am missing a brand new folding glass outdoor table. The chairs are there but the table disappeared.
- I am also missing an end table that was part of a three-piece set. Completely gone.
- I have a cedar chest that has been with me for almost 20 years - it is broken, I had the local movers rubber band it together, it is probably not reparable.
- Big chunks of damage on my furniture - I realize some damage can occur in a move but this damage is over-the-top.

American Movers moved a very heavy dining room table and hutch from the
valley to the north side of Spokane. They set up the hutch in my dining
room and saw to it that everything was placed where it needed to be.
It cost less to move this furniture from the valley than it did to move a
spinet piano from the main floor of my home to the basement. I would
definitely recommend and rehire this company in the future.

This was the second time we had American Moving move us in 18 months. This last time was even better than the first with Robert Matthews and Shawn Roberts who were amazing! American Moving provided the truck and the blankets to protect our furnishings. They were helpful moving something in another place if I needed to - because physically my husband and I can't. Just great guys who represented their company very well. We like to get them drinks - and grabbed some fast food as we stopped awhile for lunch - again - just us - not expected.

Company in general is just not very professional from making the appointment to not knowing if anyone was coming the day of the move and having to call them 10 minutes after they were suppose to be there. Of course they were just getting ready to leave Post Falls.
I was told the move would not be more then $600 after the size of the house and the location was given. Well, the bill was over $1000 by the time it was done. A little over is one thing, but almost double was just poor planning by them. The movers sent did a fair to good job with the actual moving of pieces.
Update to companies response - Date of service for the review is July 2nd as is shown, not sure why your company is talking about the end of October except that is when I actually left review.
Company name, information and review is correct. Please do not try and dismiss an honest review of your company by saying you didn't do the job as I find that dishonest by itself. Everything said is true and correct.

"i'm sorry but we did not move you check the moving co that you wrote the check to or credit card to. I do not have you in my computer or a amount on record for a thousand dollar local move. one truck load would never cost that much check my other reviews thats what a local move costs. packing and 3 to4 truck loads would cost around 1000. your not on 10-30 or week before or after. we all are family guys who work hard and take pride in our work and 90% of our bussiness is repeat"

I've used them twice for "in-town" moving with excellent results at a very reasonable cost. They haven't raised the rate since I used them before in 2005. $65/hr for 2 men and the truck. The crew showed up at 9am and moved all my "self-packed" boxes and furniture to the new house and a side trip to storage. They aren't the most gentle, but they did no damage and worked hard and fast. I recommend them to others all the time.
