It went wonderfully. Definite do's, figure out your price range BEFORE you go looking for a dress. DO know your measurements, and not just your size. A custom-fitted dress is quite different from an off-the-rack dress, and must be fitted properly by someone who knows how. DON'T EVER try to customize your gown yourself unless you are an expert (in which case, you'll probably be making your own dress. I'm intermediate, but this is something WAY beyond my ability!) DO be patient. DON'T be rude. When you're rude and going off about how annoyed you are that you're a size 0 and can't find anything, try a few things on, because, as I said before, measurements for a fitted dress are ENTIRELY different. DO buy lingerie that will fit under the wedding dress. In this case, buy your bra or corset or whatever AFTER you have bought the dress. Then, you can take the dress to Karnation or another lingerie store, and they can help you fit the under bits with your dress so they will hold the form you want without showing bra straps or too much cleavage, or not enough cleavage. DO NOT feel like you need to make a decision right then and there. Salespeople are expected to be pushy. It's their job and lively hood. Be kind and honest with them, and they will move the world to help you find the perfect dress. DO look through the catalogs and online stores, just to get an idea of the dress you want. DO try things that you don't think you'll like, because quite often, you can get a very pleasant surprise. And if you don't, well, you can say you were right all along. ;) Enjoy!
