We made an appt. On the day I requested. They did the work, charged me a minimum amount, just over $40, as I recall, and had it ready to go at 5pm the next day. Perfect car repair experience.

My Lexus dealer told me it would cost $190 to diagnose what was wrong. I took my car to Gate City Repair and they discovered that a hose had come undone. A very honest shop!

I think, their mechanic is very honest. He fixes what he said he's going to fix, and he doesn't sell up anything. He's just persistent, and he tries to find ways to diagnose the problem that you might have with your car.

Gate City is a great place if you want affordable repairs done well. They are very responsive to budgets, and incredibly honest and upfront. It's not a great place for a lot of conversation, and sometimes they aren't very fast. They also only work on foreign cars.
