They missed a sprinkler in our back yard in the middle of the grass near our pond that did not work, they moved, and charged for the moving, of two others to cover the area that the broken one should have. In moving the others they now watered the power to the pond pump and shorted the breaker. When I pressed them to fix it, two of the guys came out to put in an outlet that is covered, and they were starting to do this with the power on. I sent them away and we fixed it. We asked them to please winterizer our three properties and I had to call three times to get them out. And they did not show to start up this years, even though I specifically asked them to. Additionally, when adjusting our home system ourselves we discovered the heads they told us were due to low pressure were actually either broken due to age or obstructed by tree roots. Now everything works great, no thanks to Stark. On the up side, Chad was easy to work with and the guys who did the actual meowing were great! The last crew took a couple of minutes each time to walk the beds and kept all the weeds out! But, due to their lack of call back and inability to correctly diagnosis our sprinkler problems, we will not use them nor recommend them for any of our three properties.
"I appreciate the opportunity to add some information to this review. It is only fair to mention that despite sometimes being difficult to work with, and at times butting heads with our irrigation technician, we performed alot of work for this client, over many years. Due to the amount of the work we received from this customer, we regularly responded quickly to the requests of this owner and gave her our attention and most skilled technicians. We agree to disagree with much of the irrigation work described. Having moved into a new house that neither she, nor us had even been to before, we diagnosed the situations and performed repairs to the best of our ability. There is no simple or quick way to determine whether an aged irrigation system lacks pressure from tree roots, low pressure from the source, bad or clogged sprinkler heads, etc. Coverage issues, sprinkler head problems were all looked at by a competent technician who gave his best judgement on each situation. Our technician performed his diagnosis of the system, with the same eye and focus he does on every other irrigation system. As for sprinkler blowouts and call backs, as the office manager, I take responsibility. Her irrigation systems were blown out (in 2015), despite being relieved of doing any additional irrigation work or lawn mowing 4 months prior. I [Member Information Removed] sent out our irrigation crew to help her with her sprinkler blowout, because she was in need of getting this done before the temperature dropped. This work was performed by the same person she obviously doesn't think is very competent, which is kind of ironic. She also kind of inferred the she would like us to do her irrigation work the following year. I accepted that with a grain of salt knowing that she already took her routine lawn maintenance somewhere else last season, and considering the 4-month gap between communication, I had assumed she had moved on. Sprinkler turn-on season is pretty hectic as it is. We request that our customers call us when they are ready (Irrigation Districts do not know or report when irrigation water is tested and available at each individual subdivision in the valley, for example.) I did not hear from her at all in 2016. Now, a few months after the sprinklers were presumably turned on, she decides to go to use the Angie's List platform to voice a handful of old complaints. Whatever. We appreciate the work were were able to do with this customer. I appreciate that she did give her approval of our lawn services, since that was the alot of the work we performed for her over the years. Our maintenance manager worked tirelessly to respond to her requests, while managing the rest of his accounts. With over $20,000 in billing over the years, we very much appreciate the work were were authorized to do. It also showed that we did respond to this customer's needs and performed our jobs well as her multiple homes and commercial property. With all of that said, $20,000+ billed and "Not so good!"??? I would think that our services would have been terminated a long time before we got to this point. I respect the fact that some clients will need to move on, for a myriad of reasons, at some point. There is just no way that you can summarize and say that our performance was "not so good." We appreciate all of the customers we work for, and there are many. Stark Landscape has some of the most dedicated landscape workers in the area. We always come in with the professional attitude that we are going to do the best job possible."
"As of 7/30/2016, we have been out to review the situation. We did discover that our technician actually did install a pressure reducer to the wrong valve. He, as well as our company, are very sorry for this mistake. The reaction and review to this are completely acceptable. I am grateful, however, that we were able to fix the problem, at no cost to he homeowner. The claim that we used "discount heads" is not true. We used new parts purchased at our local vendors. There was some confusion (not on our part) that we installed some non-Rainbird components, which is many cases was because the parts specified by the owner were discontinued. Recommendations were given for drip tube options that provide the best reliability considering the conditions of the area, as well as other suggestions. Our technician, as can be seen by our other reviews, has years of experience (over 15 years, to be exact.) Sometimes our suggestions are accepted, sometimes they are not. Ultimately, the additional work that we installed to the existing system was done professionally, and as best to the requests of the owner. The problem with the pressure reducing valve was our mistake. We are sorry that this mistake happened and are grateful that we finally were able to fix it. We appreciate the somewhat honest review and agree with the overall rating."
