Right Now Heating and Air Conditioning

My rating is beyond poor - into very dishonest. We first came in contact with this company through Home Depot about 7 years ago and agreed to have them check our furnace and a/c. At that time we were told that these 2 things needed to be replaced and why not have the water heater replaced too? Not knowing otherwise, we did this. Two years later they checked our heating and a/c again only to tell us that our furnace (which they had previously replaced) was completely worn out/unusable. They replaced it. My husband was at Home Depot again in early spring of this year - 2023 - and told them to come check our heating and a/c. They came and right off told us we needed a new furnace and a/c unit. It would cost us $15,000.00. No way!! We got a 2nd opinion and found out the furnace just needed a new filter. We paid $60.00 for a checkup that never happened and for them to try to deceive us. Since then our furnace and a/c have worked perfectly without being "fixed".

The technician was late, not sure why. Once he arrived, everything went very well. He offered to wear a mask, which I accepted if we were within 6 feet of another, and wore booties in the house. He reviewed the results of the servicing with me and answered my questions. Was very polite and finished the work within an hour. I was concerned about my air conditioner since last year, the technician noted that the compressor had an oil leak. This year, the oil loss was substantial and another part was showing signs of high wear, such that I need to replace the unit. Glad I found out before it failed and glad it didn't fail during the recent heat wave.

They advised that my heater needed to be replaced, my water heater was corroded (in the interior bottom where no one could see) and should be replaced, and that my A/C unit would need to be replaced soon. Also, our insulation was insufficient. Weird that they perform all these services? I got a second opinion, and was told that my heater just needed a new $60 part - and it was fixed. This was over three years ago, and none of the things they advised would happen came to pass. The 2nd opinion person refuted everything they advised I pay to have done.

They are usually pretty good. I've used them for many, many years. They're reliable and punctual.

The systems are great, the installation team did a superb job!

They called before they came out and we were ready when they got there. Two very polite and courteous young men got right to work and had the install completed by early afternoon. They even installed several carbon monoxide detectors in our house and a new thermostat. Before they left, they instructed us on the operation of the new stat and answered any questions we had. Now we have a new more efficient furnace with a ten year warranty and the peace of mind of having a safe heating source. I would definitely recommend Right Now Htg. & A/C for any HVAC needs you may have. Keith Dahl Meridian, Id

I will try to be nice here. Remember, this is MY opinion based upon MY experience with them. My wife called them when I was out of the country (Japan). The heater would not turn on. The thermostat battery needed to be replaced, but my wife was not aware of this. When Right Now arrived they didn't even bother to check the battery. Instead, they told her that the heat-exchanger was cracked and that we needed a new furnace. They told her that our Lenox furnace was out of warranty and it would be very dangerous if it was not replaced. Sadly my wife didn't know about this type of stuff and fell for their 'prognosis'. Reality check: Our furnace had 3 years left on its warranty. However, by the time that I talked to my wife via Skype, it had already been replaced and we were out $3500! In talking with our current source for heating and cooling, we found that Right Now uses the 'cracked heat-exchanger' tactic frequently. One potential victim recently called our current source for a second opinion after being told by Right Now that their heat-exchanger was cracked. What they found was that there was absolutely nothing wrong with their current unit even though Right Now said that they needed it replaced! To keep this short, I strongly recommend getting a second opinion prior to authorizing ANY work to be performed by this company! They will NEVER do anything for us ever again and I will continue to share my experience with others out there.
