The contract was to replace sprinkler system, remove old weeds and sod, put down top soil and new sod, and add chain link fence to areas missing fencing.
They scraped off most of the old weeds and grass sod which had not been taken care of for years and hauled it away. They added some new heads to the existing sprinkler system and relocated some of the heads. They were asked to bring in new top soil but the amount they brought in was way too little. The sod they provided was of mixed quality and type and now shows patterns of different grass type kind of like patchwork across the back yard. They added chain link fence to one side of back yard and to a small section of the front of the back yard. The quality of the fencing was moderate, surely not the good heavy pipe and fittings I expected. I asked for a 5 foot gate so we could get our lawn sweeper through the gate. What we got was a 54 inch gate and we now cannot pull the lawn sweeper through the gate but have to leave it in the back yard. When I asked them why the gate was not 5 feet (60 inches) I was told that is what you get when you order a 5 foot gate. Gee... I guess when someone asks you for 5 bucks and you give them 4.50, that is enough because it is close. Not in my book.
We have asked them to come back on several occasions to adjust the sprinkler heads because we have dry spots in the yard. They have done this at least three times and we still have spots that are not being watered correctly. Since they tried to use the existing sprinkler lines, the placement of the heads is not adequate to cover the area correctly. The original bid was for adding a sprinkler system to the back yard and not just to add a few new heads to the existing system.
The price was also to include top soil and the amount they added to the yard was a joke. In some places an inch or so and in others nothing.
We would not recommend this company to anyone in the future and will certainly not use them again.
