Description of Work: This contractor began the work without our approval as his crew started the job while we were on vacation. The hours that were put into this job were more than we verbally agreed upon and he failed to provide us with a bid or an estimate from the very beginning. He was hesitant even when we kept on asking him the whole duration of the re-modeling project. We did not want the process to stop as the weather was beginning to change so we just allowed him and his crew to continue. The whole re-modeling took much longer than he predicted, from 2 months to 6 months. The final bill was at least $10,000 over the budget that we told him. We noticed that once he realized that he went over the agreed budget, he began not to show up as often and work that could be done in a couple of hours began to drag on for days and weeks. He also screened our calls and never returned phone messages until we involved our local police to mediate this lack of professionalism. Work done by his contractor is good but it is definitely not worth all the frustrations, time and money.
