I call my experience with Treasure Valley Exteriors "The 20K Mistake" By far the worst experience I have ever had! In August 2023 I ordered new windows, doors, and a skylight and provided a 2 month estimate for completion. They lost the measurements requiring them to come measure multiple times. 2 months passed with no updates I felt scammed. After countless texts, phone calls, and emails they realized the manufacturing company had “misplaced” my order and began working on it. The window and door install was completely awful and they had to send another crew to cleanup the initial work (made things a bit better but still subpar). They finally “finished” 4 months after I placed my order. See the pictures, I think they say it all. The pictures are of what they left me with. Horrible communication and service, with a staff full of liars.

Listen to your gut, take the bad reviews seriously, and just DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY! Too bad Holmes on Homes doesn't come to Boise cause TVC would have their a$$es handed to them! Never in a million years would we have thought some simple vertical siding replacements and caulking anywhere that needed it, would end in feeling like we were robbed and needing to hire someone else to finish the job! Several walkarounds, several times having sub contractors come out, still not complete! They initially got the paint wrong, but corrected that issue sloppily. Half-*** caulked some random places, but completely missed the major stuff that had been talked about and shown on multiple occasions. They replaced the trim on the sides of our garage doors, didn't match up with the top trim that stayed. Thankfully it's not terribly noticeable, but now we have to figure out where to put the garage door opener because it won't fit where it was. Oh, and lets not forget the fact they took tools out of our garage without our permission, used them, and then left them outside on the ground when they were "finished" the first time!!! Give your business and money to someone that deserves it... TVC is NOT deserving of any of it!! Nothing like having to pay full price for a half-*** job and all of the frustration that's come with this project! UPDATE: Went in to pay our bill so these crooks wouldn't put a lien on our home and when I confronted them about the job not being done, they "couldn't imagine" that it wasn't, but never once offered to come back and take a look at what I was referring to, finish the job, or anything. They just stood there and basically called me a liar.

We called them to get some siding repaired and their salesman was extremely pushy and aggressive and kept trying to sell us on getting a whole roof replacement and all the windows replaced which we didn't need. These aggressive sales tactics may work on some people however for me it's a major turnoff. I will NOT hire Treasure Valley Exteriors or any company that Kelly Eslinger is a part of.

This is a difficult review to write. To be totally honest, read all the reviews. There are many reviews stating the poor communication. I completely agree with that statement. It was a long process. We asked for the bid and they came right out. It went downhill from there. It seems the salesman and the production manager disagreed on the work needing done and the overall cost. So several more times, people came out to look at what needed done. After all of that was settled, which took a lot of emails and phone calls to get resolved, they set a date. The installer came out to see what needed done. He didn’t know what was needed to complete the job and didn’t have any material on hand. Once he looked at it and checked on parts, he returned the following week. By this time, it’s the end of June. However, the work accomplished was outstanding! It was a near perfect match of my existing siding and looked perfect. They really do great work! It’s just that you need to be ready for it to take a long time and little communication with everyone involved. I talked to the owner and we discussed the situation and I was quickly offered an acceptable resolution to the aggravating project. So, in closing, it was a long and frustrating project, but very happy with the workmanship.

The lower sections of wood siding at various locations of our home needed replacement due to water damage. We also had TVE add some gutters in a few locations. We experienced scheduling difficulties and incorrect ordering with TVE. No communication on when the gutters would be installed. They just showed up. Then they dropped the trailer and left for about 4 hours. Couldn't get a hold of anyone that knew what was going on. Then they finally showed up again. They did, however, do a good job of installation. Initially we were told the exterior siding replacement would be done at the same time as the gutter additions. This didn't happen. Then we were told the install would happen when they install the windows. This did not happen. After several texts and phone calls, we did not hear back from TVE on when this work would be scheduled. Then they just showed up unscheduled. The installer informed us that the wrong quantity of panels was ordered and he could not finish the job, so he didn't start and just left. We ended up cancelling the work on the siding and going with another contractor. Kelly at TVE's apologized and was very professional. He informed me that they were very busy and were having scheduling issues. In response to this situation, he offered to install one of the exterior doors we were having them replace for free. The gesture was much appreciated and I appreciated the way they handled the matter even though my wife and I were very frustrated with the lack of communication, mis-ordering of materials, and scheduling difficulties.

The installers did a great job installing both the windows and doors. Very clean and professional installation. The only negative would be a miscommunication on window function. We initially looked at a Pella vinyl window that had a night latch which we liked. These were west and south facing windows so we wanted to go with something more durable and decided on Pella fiberglass windows. When we asked if the fiberglass model had all the same features, we were told by TVE yes. However, these particular windows apparently don't come with a night latch. The double hungs were also somewhat difficult to close both upper and lower windows. TVE called the Pella rep and asked them to set up a review with us to check function and to see if anything could be done to add a night latch. I very much appreciated TVE's proactive approach on this relatively minor issue.

The absolute best experience we have ever had with remodeling! Everyone from the owner to the roofers to the lady answering the phone were remarkably helpful, polite, and very straight forward. I was always treated as if I was the only client and never felt like they had other priorities. They understood that this is my home and with children and dogs at home any type of work being done can be nerve-racking! My roof is gorgeous, already getting so much positive feedback from my neighbors that they have booked appointments for bids too!. I can not wait until the windows come in in a week or two! I will let ya know how those go but I expect nothing short of awesomeness based on my experience thus far. I would send you pictures but last night it snowed 3 inches and you can not see my roof.

The best part of this company was the salesman, Josh. After signing the contract, everything from there was a nightmare. They told me that I would be called in about 2 weeks to get me on the schedule. At 2 1/2 weeks I had to call them to get the job scheduled. The sub-contractors came out as scheduled and got the job done in one day as promised. Problems then surfaced. There was no one who came out to inspect the job but upon my own inspection, there was a part of the roof that was "not up to par." I called and I called and I called again to get someone out. Finally almost 2 weeks later the same sub contractor came out to pretty much put a bandaid on the problem area. It turns out that there is a structural problem with one of the trusses that no one bothered to tell me about. An issue that could have been taken care of prior to the new roof being put on! Now I am stuck with a roof that is not right. It has been 4 months now since the roof was installed and I am still calling to get the warranty paperwork that I paid extra for. I will be calling again today but don't hold up much hope. If you want a contractor you can trust to do the work you want done, go someplace else. This one will only give you nightmares!

Josh came out to do my estimate and then came back to meet with my insurance agent. He was very friendly and gave me a competitive bid. The main reason I decided to go with TVE was because I liked the idea of one company coordinating all of the work. The project coordinator's name is Eric and he did a really good job. There were a few delays with my projects, but Eric kept me informed and always took my calls when I called to ask a question. All of the completed work was done well and now my house looks fantastic. Everyone that showed up to do the work was pleasant, informative and professional. The only criticism that I have is that the Painters left my back yard a mess, but the roofers cleaned some of it up. Considering the overall scope of the work, it really wasn't a big deal. I would highly recommend Treasure Valley Exteriors to anyone who is looking to have some work done, but hates dealing with contractors. I can not overstate how fantastic this team was to work with.

The day the inspection was to be done, the guy showed up early, called me on my cell to tell me I needed to get a hold of my insurance company so that I could file a claim because I was missing some shingles. I said that I knew they were missing and that I had the replacement ones in my garage and that I was on my way home. When I arrived he was starting to put his ladder away, no work had been done. We discussed the missing shingles, he said he couldn't replace them because he wasn't a roofer. (What? ) But then he proceeded to tell me that I needed a new roof, that to replace the shingles would cost $300-400. I said even though I am providing the matching shingles, he said yes. I told him that I had mentioned in my initial email with the company and again when I talked on the phone making the appointment about the missing shingles and was not told that there would be an additional fee to have it done or that this was unrealistic. He said the woman I talked to was just the receptionist and he would talk to her. I then asked if he was going to do anything today, he said he could go back up and check the rest of the shingles. I said yes, that's what I had paid for. He went and got a calk gun and his ladder. He then went very quickly across the roof, glued down 4-5 shingles and came back down. I asked, what about the second floor? He said his ladder wasn't tall enough to reach it. He then got in his truck and left.

"The scope of the $49 roof tune up inspection does not account for replacing ANY shingles. It DOES earn the customer a $100 credit towards a repair. This roof requires replacement. We regret to not have provided the customer enough value for the $49. A refund is being sent today."

It seemed to take a little longer than expected to have the work completed. It is a very busy time of the year and there are many roofing repair jobs going on due to the harsh winter that we had. John is thorough at taking care of issues if they arise. Heather has been great with getting information processed to help the insurance reimbursement process along. Roofing and gutter subs were great. Very quick work once they were scheduled and on the site.

I love my new door! It took us a few weeks to get in synch to get the door measured and ordered, but once the scheduler was back from vacation, everything went without a hitch. The installers were professional and fast! They cleaned up completely before they left. And because I was able to be flexible, they called me when they had a cancellation, so my door was installed at least a week sooner than I expected. I am very happy with their service and price.

Several supplier issues occurred but the installer kept us up to date and worked with us to get the install done asap. They even redid the framing and woodwork trim to accommodate larger windows and it looked wonderful. Well done!

We are very pleased with Treasure Valley Exteriors. They were responsive in setting up an initial appointment and the salesman was helpful about our options. Their estimate even came in a little lower than we expected, which was also very nice! Gary, who did the bulk of our work, was a pleasure to have around. He is so pleasant and clearly takes pride in his work. He is very experienced and knew the best way to tackle our particular roof/gutter/soffit issues. He was precise and careful with the work, and his craftsmanship shows in the finished job. The crew that added a new section of the gutter to the house was helpful in solving an issue with obstructing tree branches. It all came together seamlessly. In fact, the day after the work was finished, it was tested with 1.5 inches of hard rain, and it worked flawlessly! No leaking!! We couldn't be happier with Treasure Valley Exteriors and our experience with them. We won't hesitate to call them again, if the need arises.

Treasure Valley Exteriors did a professional job from written estimate through final invoicing. The job foreman (Ed, I believe) and scheduling/invoicing person (Natalie) did an amazing job of keeping the project on schedule and answering all of our questions. We could not have asked for a better experience, and final product.
