Tim and Jan McCarty at Kitchen Tune-Up of Treasure Valley served as the general contractors on this kitchen re-model and double bathroom re-face. They worked with subs to schedule all the work, and they personally accomplished the removal, clean-up and install of new kitchen cabinets. There were a number of issues with the primary sub, Rock Hard Granite, who did not meet their agreed upon dates of install. Indeed, Tim and Jan had to work around several delays due to the granite countertops being delayed for about two weeks. Nevertheless, Tim was reliable, stayed on top of the project's needs, and was excellent at communicating steps, processes, and schedules. We first were impressed with Tim and Jan's approach to the bid and estimate process. Unlike others we tried to deal with, Tim and Jan came out to see our home, brought samples, listened to our needs and answered the myriad questions homeowners have, when doing such a major bit of work to a home. Tim and Jan suggested designs, solutions and options in a manner that came alongside our needs without pushing their own "agenda". They were completely willing and able to meet our needs. Tim kept up both personally and via email throughout the remodel, and went to bat for on several occasions to direct that work got done as needed. They make a good team, and have all sorts of ability, technology and ideas that can brighten and increase the efficiencies of any kitchen and home. Today, we thoroughly enjoy the kitchen; and, are very happy with the way everything turned out. While there were some troubles with the countertop install, still they worked through all the delays and our concerns in a way that was highly accountable and very professional. We appreciated their thoroughness and through-put to make sure the work was done and completed properly. There were some small issues that arose - a gouge in the floor from a dishwasher with a bad "foot", and getting counters level with proper floor seals. Nevertheless, Tim and Jan rose to the occasion each and every step along the way. The alder cabinets in black walnut are really well made ? we enjoy the soft-close drawers and doors. We really like the pull-outs and the design of the cabinets (without the middle stile, it?s as if we have 25% more room). The fit and finish of the cabinets and the bath vanity re-face and new fronts are just well done. We would recommend Kitchen Tune Up and the work of Time and Jan any time. Should we have occasion to need work in the future on our tile floors and hardwoods, we?ll contact Kitchen Tune Up first. They gave very practical suggestions and were considerate of our privacy, home and property. We were impressed that they cleaned up after themselves and were consistently on-time and on-schedule for work. That?s a real plus that surely adds value to work and business.
