The price was way less than we thought. The experience was absolutely fabulous. We called and they came. They came right out. We had an issue, which ended up leaking and they came right back and fixed it at no charge. They do a great job.

Roto Rooter came to my house to clear a main line blockage. There were 2 workers. One of them went into the bathroom to see if there was standing water in the tub. Even though there was no standing water in the tub, the worker said there was. I went and looked and didn't see what he said he saw but allowed them to continue. ( I later learned that the tub drain was not even connected to the main drain line. It was draining out under the house. There is No POSSIBLE WAY that there could have been standing water in the tub. That's right, the worker LIED about what he saw.) They ran a heavy snake cable down the line from the roof vent and was unable to fix the problem of the blockage effecting the rest of the house. I could not use the toilet, any of the sinks, or do laundry. They spent approx. 2 hours trying to figure out what was wrong. When they left, after charging me for doing absolutely no good at all, ( they told me to install a ground a clean-out and they would come back and try again) I installed a ground-level clean-out. They came back and ran the cable down the drain again with no success. They would not even try to use a smaller cable (which would have worked). The problem, as it turned out is a broken pipe under the street. ( I learned this when I replaced the pipe from the house to the street. I was able to shine a light down the pipe and could see the problem) Roto Rooter charged $280.00 and was unable to give me a reason why my drain would not flow. I ended up doing the work myself. I will NEVER call Roto Rooter again. They LIE, they are not professional and They will bully a person into paying an unreasonable amount even if they do not fix the problem.
Note: I only recently learned of Angie's list. This is my first opportunity to tell people of my experience, where I think it wll do some good for the people of Pocatello.

in October 2008 Roto-Rooter was called out to snake a clog in our pipes. During the service call they opened the access to our septic tank. When they were finished they did not replace the cap to the septic properly then covered the top with a tarp and some dirt. During the last several months we have had record rain fall and friday (26 June) our sewage started backing up into the house. When the septic was checked it was noticed that the lid had not been replaced properly and the rainfall was going into the tank from the access point as well as rocks and Dirt being washed into the tank from the opening. Roto-Rooter was contacted about the error of their representatives who were the last people to have access to the tank. An extremely rude lady named Carma who claimed to be the owner of the company and proceeded to call my wife and I liars and told us they dont know what we are talking about. She was condescending and her tone was snotty from the moment she got on the phone. It was evident that she had no knowledge about septic systems, her only purpose was to abuse my wife and I, her customers. She made no attempt to find out the problem and made no attempt to remedy the situation. She was finally persuaded to send out someone to take a look at the tank. About an hour later 2 plummers from Roto-Rooter showed up at the house. They looked down at the top of the septic cover and with that one glance at the Cover they stated the leach field was clogged and said they would charge us $4000.00 + to fix It. Then they left refusing to remedy the problem their negligence had caused. They did not do any diagnostics at all, they came to that conclusion simply by looking at the tank cover. We are now attempting to take Legal Action to force Roto-Rooter to fix the problems they caused with our septic system.
