I brought my pants (2 Levi and 2 athletic ) to the shop on Tuesday and had Ruth decide where the hems should be by me trying them on. She has a changing room to be able to switch out of different clothes that are to be altered. Ruth is a very nice lady who acted professional the entire time. She took her time and made sure that what I needed done was to my satisfaction. I was given a contract of sorts to sign explaining the charges and the pick up date. It cost $55 For the work she did. Her date for completion was a little over 2 weeks out and I needed them sooner than that so for a $10 flat fee which was for all 4 jobs, she put them in for a rush job. I was quoted 1 week turn around. On Monday the next week She texted me letting me know my pants were ready for pick up.(one day early) When I arrived to pick them up she brought them out and showed me the work she had done. She also provided the material that was removed as a kind of proof that the work was in fact performed. The workmanship of her sewing was fantastic! She even put the cuff back on one pair of the athletic pant that had one before the hem was put in. The stitching look just like the original, using the same colored thread and type of stich. I was so pleased with the job. I didn't try them on at the store but I did when returning home and all 4 pairs fit perfectly .Aside from the price being more than I expected for the job before going there, everything was beyond my expectations. I will be bringing her more work in the future.
Description of Work: I had 4 pairs of pants hemmed by Ruth.

I was looking around for a shop that would be able to alter my wedding dress for cheap, but all I could find were prices 300 and up. I heard about Quixtitch so I decided to check it out. As soon as I walked in I was greeted with a smile and we started talking. It was so easy talking to Ruth, owner of Quixtitch. She had me put on my dress, she measured me, and we talked about what I was wanting and what work she wants me to do. She didn't tell me, and quot;Well this is what we have to do.and quot; She made it about me and my wants. And after it was all planned she priced it out to an amazing $150 dollars for making a bussel, taking it in on the sides, and doing some hem work, and also adding in some hooks to make it fit more comfortably. We talked about our social life, she just made so easy to speak with her, I can be open with her. It took her less than a week to get my dress done, which is amazing since she had so many dresses to get done. I love the atmosphere there, how friendly yet professional she is, I will definitely visit again. She is 100% the real deal.
Description of Work: The provider, Ruth, altered my wedding dress to the perfect fit.

I'm excited to have Angie's List available because sometimes good businesses don't get recognized. Quixtitch Sewing is a business owned by a professional seamstress. It is not someone's hobby done at home. I've seen prom dresses, wedding dresses and many other clothes hanging in her shop. After a friendly greeting and a short conversation I go into a room to change clothes. I return to the larger room which has a full length mirror. Ruthie and I discuss the style, the length and any other types of alterations needed. She pins the item, asks if that concurs with what we discussed. Most of the clothes I purchase need altered because I'm small and thin but I'm also past 50 years old. It's difficult to get trendy, age-appropriate clothes. I am very impressed by the quality of her work.!
Description of Work: On this visit Ruthie shortened and narrowed pants.
