There were unexpected delays and at one point we needed to renegotiate the contract; Dave's bid was fixed cost and there were unforeseen expenses. Regardless of these, Dave never tried to skimp on materials or workmanship; he always used first rate materials and made sure the job was done correctly. For instance, he insisted on using copper tubing instead of PVC. He did this despite, in the end, losing money on the project even after we renegotiated the contract. Did we blame Dave for cost overruns? No, this kind of custom job was terribly complex and nailing down all the variables would have been difficult for anyone. The only discontent we ever had with Dave was his timeliness in getting back to us about delays, We felt he could have kept us in the loop a bit better. however when we called, he ALWAYS took our call. Bottom line: Will we use him again when it comes time to expand and update the system? Yes.
