"The humidity in the home was borderline at 30% when the floor was refinished. The customer was advised multiple times that the humidity was too dry in his home and he should acquire a humidifier. The customer called with some concerns, we went back twice to look at the floor and the humidity in the home was at 17%. The floor has since dry cupped. As stated in the contract it is the customer's responsibility to maintain the humidity in their home or the warranty is void. NWFA standard for RH in the home is to be between 30-50% too much moisture and too little moisture will cause wood floors to cup. I told this customer once the humidity has been brought back up to standard I would sand it again at cost even though this was due to customer negligence."
