EXPRESSIVE STAIN & PAINT

The painters started the actual work of spraying paint late in the day, and when the sun went down they asked me to turn on my flood lights in the back so they could see better.  They wanted to finish the job before they left for the day.  A wind came up after sundown, and caused overspray everywhere, including the TREX decking, numerous items on the ground below, including a lawn tractor.  This damage was not realized fully until the next morning.  The owner then spent the better part of 3 days attempting to remove the damage.  The evidence still remains today.  I never did see the painters again.  I paid the contractor $700 of the $1400 estimate before the work started. and refused to pay the balance.

The next morning I inspected the job to find paint over spray on all surfaces and objects withing several feet of the area to be painted. The TREX deck on the patio had numerous paint drops and over sprays where the drop cloth was not secured properly. My garden tractor was over sprayed. The two satellite disks were over sprayed. The contractor attempted to clean up, but gave up and never returned. I refused to pay the remaining balance.
