I went in to cash a check and put some Money on a Wells Fargo card. I wanted to put $40 on the card and get the balance back in cash. The teller, whose name was Freddy - a young man with black rimmed glasses who seemed quite checked out of the experience - continued to go back and forth with me, claiming I wanted $40 back and the balance on the card. We continued several times before I finally backed up and spoke a little louder, thinking maybe he couldn't hear me clearly so close. The assistant manager, Lawna, comes up behind Freddy and tells me I'm yelling and being rude. I wasn't yelling, I was trying to cash a check and Freddy didn't seem to know what he was doing and wasn't responding. I asked the customer next to me if I was yelling. No and she heard me the first 3 times I told him what I wanted. The other teller heard me as well and knew what I wanted done. I wanted $40 on the card and the balance of my check in cash. Lawna tells Freddy what to do on the computer system, that he would need to clear what had been done and cash the check and then let me put what I wanted on the card. I kid you not, she looked right at me said 'you want $40 back and the rest on the card, yes?' I said no! and repeated again, slower, what I was wanting. She tells me now I'm being even more rude and to take my business elsewhere. I've banked with Wells Fargo 20 years and this has been ridiculous! I called customer service and they said they'd put in the report, talk with the onsite manager, the regional manager and find out what's going on. Even they were shocked by the behavior. Personally, I think it was a lack of training and a lack of caring.
