Curt and Alpine Carpentry have trimmed out at lease a dozen houses for me and each time I have used him I have been absolutely blown away by the quality and professionalism. I am actually remodeling my personal house that my family and I will move into and I would not even consider using anybody else. I've worked with a lot of different carpentry contractors and I can honestly say, without embellishment, that Curt and Alpine Carpentry are the best in Idaho.
Description of Work: Trimmed out several houses i.e. baseboards, doors and jambs, trim windows, etc

We have been in this home for 15 years. I ordered new carpet and since that was going in I wanted to change a few things about our stairs. One, I wanted the bottom three steps to have oak treads that matched our floors. Second, I wanted the carpet to no longer wrap through the balusters but instead stop at a white molding or runner that the stair balusters would then go into. Pictures would be nice here so you could see the before and after. I got three different bids._x000D_|Alpine Carpentry/Curt came out and bid the job - he was quiet and contemplative and seemed to be detail oriented. His bid was a mid-line bid so I felt comfortable with hiring his company. _x000D_|The three stair treads he made seem of good quality. The finish work that entails mitered corners are just okay. The balusters were supposed to be ordered and installed the same week but it ended up being several days into the following week before he came and finished the work. Finally he got the ordered balusters and put them in but did a terrible job! I have been embarrassed that friends have commented on the shoddy work - spindles that don't line up, are different heights._x000D_|When I called him to correct the work he gave me a very long explanation as to why the balusters were put in that way. When my husband called him about it Curt continued to defend that even though the grooves were at different heights that it was correct. My husbands question "Then why when Todd built the house was it done correctly" could not be answered._x000D_|Curt only showed real interest in solving the problem when we stopped payment on the check. Unfortunately that was after we had totally lost confidence in his work._x000D_|I tried to be patient and originally believed that the baluster order was screwed up by his supplier (that's what Curt said) but I question that now too. After seeing the finished result and his absolute defense that the baluster's grooves are all different heights because that's how it has to be and the fact that some of the balusters are not even glued and nailed in and come out the grade for Alpine is an F._x000D_|

Mr. Conger stayed on top of the subs, including the inevitable glitches, without losing patience. He was great to work with, staying in close communication with me throughout. The finishing work he did was top quality. My new addition looks wonderful, and is a pleasure to use, and all within budget. I highly recommend Alpine Carpentry.
Description of Work: Contractor for an addition to my house consisting of master bedroom with walk-in closet and area for study, and bath. He managed the subs, helped with framing, and did the finishing work.
