They have trouble diagnosing the first time. I recommend requesting both x-ray and blood work if there is any question. We have spent $ on a lot of blood test when an x-ray the first day would have diagnosed the issue. Then with another dog and a different issue they did an x-ray and were not able to diagnose properly but blood test afterward showed the issue right away. Nothing miss-diagnosed was malpractice in any way, everyone makes mistakes. However these mistakes cost me not just $ but emotions as well.

My female was taken to exam room. She was not examined. Palpated for pups or other. Then taken back for XRay. After XRay, the film was put up long enuff to say "no pups". Then Dr? Said let me ask one of the girls if she sees anything! Took it down and went into a room and came out without the film and said, nope. I was charged 50. For XRay and 39.00 for an exam my dog never got. Also, an XRay should be done 58 days into a dogs pregnancy. My dog was 55, but vet couldn't do an ultra sound because he didn't know how to use the machine. I would think that a vet should beable to operate his equip. In case of an emergency. It is life threatening for an English Bulldog if she can't have her pups naturally, and most can't. They require C sections. Thus, the reason for confirming pregnancy and how many pups and size. I'm thankful this did not turn out to be a crisis. But it very well could have do to lack of professionalism. I hope all my marks above were marked correctly. All should read- POOR
