Dog grooming. I usually go to Pet Smart but wanted to switch to a local company. Went to the location on water tower in Meridian. My dog was left unattended for 2 hours because the groomer left and no one at the store even knew she was there. I never got a call that she was done with my dog and so I finally drove over to check on her. It took me a long time to even find an employee to help me get her out because the groomer had clocked out for the day. It took 2 employees to finally figure it out. They let me take my dog without even checking my credentials because they had no idea or documentation who left what dog. They charged me $35.00 for the service but had no detail or documentation what was done in the grooming / how things went. No one had any idea what was going on. I expressed my concerns to the store manager (who blew me off and pretended like he didn't see me the first time I asked for help) and he listened politely but didn't care or apologize or have any answers. I got my basset hound home and noticed that $35.00 later my dog's ears were still caked with dirt. I called Zamzows corporate for help and got a response call and thought I would get help, but instead, they just told the groomer to call me who then left a message on my voicemail yelling at me and telling me it was my fault. I want my $35.00 back! Will never shop at what I thought was a good local company full of integrity. Guess not!!

I go to the Federal Way Zamzow's, usually, and know most of the employees there. I especially appreciate getting advice from Dan, who works on Sundays when I am normally shopping there. Dan is also an organic farmer, and knows his stuff. He is very professional and will steer me in the right direction even when I am asking for non-organic solutions (like pre-emergent).
Zamzow's on Federal Way isn't the biggest nursery in the area in terms of plants, but in my experience all of the plants there are high quality. I can point out all of the Zamzow's plants in my yard, and they are the plants that are doing the best.

Zamzow's also hosts a radio Garden Show on Saturdays from 11 a.m. - noon. Mary Rohlfing is the main host, and there is usually a co-host from one of the Zamzow's stores. I look forward to this show every weekend; Mary is so knowledgeable and personable! And callers have a chance to win a gallon of Thrive!

Zamzow's has been around the area for a long time--like 80 or 200 years or something like that. The company--family owned--is the premier source for natural lawn products. I appreciate this about Zamzow's, and applaud the company for staying true to its values. When I purchase anything at Zamzow's, I know that it is both high quality and is backed by the Zamzow's guarantee. Now THAT'S a local treasure!
