About us

Idaho's only 24 Hour Animal Emergency & Specialty Center WestVet offers animal care to the Treasure Valley 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. If your pet is experiencing an emergency or sudden illness, please come directly to the animal hospital. We have a team of critical care veterinarians and technicians on staff to assist you immediately. In addition, to our animal emergency hospital, every day, our team of veterinary specialists work in partnership with your family veterinarian to provide compassionate, continuous care in times of unexpected illness or injury. During regular business hours, please contact your family veterinarian with questions or concerns regarding your pet. Specialty appointments are by referral only. For after hours, weekend or holiday emergencies, no appointment is required, please come directly to the hospital.

It was late evening when I realized that my dog could no longer stand. I took her to West Vet where she was seen immediately. Unfortunately, the cause for her weakness was internal bleeding due to a tumor on her spleen. The doctor and staff were very patient, sympathetic and helpful. We were allowed our last minutes with her in a cozy little room with a fireplace where we could say our goodbyes and then hold her while the shots were administered. Of course, it was a sad outcome but handled in the best possible way. The price is high compared to our normal vet but they were there when I needed them.

Took my dog in because he hurt his tail. It was Sunday and I wasn't sure who else would be open. I just brought him in- didn't even have to call. Filled out the forms online first to save time. It is expensive since it's more of an urgent care facility and regular vets usually refer clients to them. You have to pay full cost of visit when you check out, which was pricey for us since my dog also had medications. But it was well worth it to know he was taken care of so well.

WestVet Animal Emergency and Specialty Center do two different surgeries, they have to cut the bone and remove it and place it where it is supposed to be, so all I do is go to them for the follow up to see how his knee is doing. I liked them because they could do this for my dog. The charges of the follow through is covered in the initial payment. I always hear from the doctor after the service on the feedback about if I need to make the dog do exercises and they give me a full report on what the work out was like and they are friendly.

I would highly recommend them. They are more expensive than a regular vet, but they are extremely professional, always available, and we were very happy with them. They also report back to your regular vet.

The receptionist and staff were friendly; the doctor was kind and we felt our dog got great care. We felt the price was fair, given they are open 24-7 and always available.
