First time around, there was a scheduling snafu, and One-Hour was fantastic and humble about making it right with me. I will use this company again for sure, as I felt the responsiveness, professionalism, and knowledge of the entire team was fantastic. Tech arrived on time, in professional uniform, and wore plastic booties in my house (my carpet is older anyway, but the gesture was appreciated). He made some suggestions about my A/C and what might come due for replacement soon and what their expected costs would be, but did not pressure me into buying because he was ALSO honest with me in telling me those parts existing in my unit still had some life left to them. Additionally, although he was not there to service my furnace, he was kind enough to take a quick look inside to make sure I was safe (furnace is OLD). Thank you One-Hour, for fantastic customer service. Will return again!

They are really good. As far as I can tell he came out and did everything correct. He even opened up some vents that I didn't know about. He certainly did "A" work.

I waited 7 days for a tech to come out. His first trip, he looked at a tag from the gas company that said the furnace needed service, so he left without doing anything. I called and asked him if he had fired up the furnace. He said no. Late Friday afternoon, he went back and started the furnace and determined that I needed a new furnace and since it was Friday afternoon, nothing could be done until Monday. I had a problem with this company once before for poor performance by the tech. I will never call this company again. I own 10 properties and they obviously don't need my business.

"First and foremost I like to thank you for allowing One Hour Heating and Air Conditioning to service your rental property and taking your time to write this review. Nothing is more rewarding to us than positive word of mouth and it breaks our heart when our customers feel as though they didn't receive the highest quality of service that they deserve. Unfortunately in the situation a few important details are missing which we feel are key to an accurate picture of this situation. On 10/17/2016 the customer purchased one of our furnace maintenances for their above noted rental property. They were called that same day and the work was schedule to be completed on Friday 10/21/2016. (4 days later, which was set and agreed upon by customer) On the day of service 10/21/2016 our technician arrived on site to complete the maintenance, at which time he discovered a red tag on the furnace from the gas company for mechanical issues. Not knowing the reasoning behind the tagging, our techs are required to halt all work until the needed information is obtained. Our tech proceeded to call the gas company to get all the information on the red tagging. As well as the homeowner (landlord) to inform them that he could not continue work until he gets confirmation from the gas company on the severity of the situation. The homeowner did not answer, so the tech had to leave a message. At which time he packed up a left because no work could be completed until he heard from the gas company and homeowner. The homeowner called back a little later that morning and even after tech explained the situation, insisted tech return to the site and finish the maintenance. Homeowner stated that the gas company said the unit only needed routine maintenance. Taking the homeowners word, tech returned to site later that day to complete job. In the mean time, the gas company did call back and stated that the furnace was releasing over 300ppm of carbon monoxide into the home, potentially putting tenants in a very dangerous situation. Tech verified gas companies findings and informed homeowner of the situation. Yes being that it was later in the day on a Friday, it's more than likely that a furnace of that style would not be available until Monday if replacement was the option he wanted. Which it wasn't. I'm sorry the homeowner felt our response time wasn't quite where it needed to be and I'm definitely not saying there weren't things we could have done better. We do however feel its unfair to judge us on the things that were for the most part out of our control. Most importantly we stand by all the steps we took and take pride in knowing we did the right thing when it came to the safety of the tenants. If you should ever need our help in the future please don't hesitate to give us a call. We want nothing more than show the kind of experience one should get if they choose to use One hour Heating and Air Conditioning."

Fine I guess, but it seemed mostly used an opportunity to try and sell us a new unit. Of course. If you want to give a bid, most places offer that without charge. The tech spent all of 10 minutes on the system and 20 on trying to talk me into a new unit. Also said something's to say that it was pulling three times the power of a new system. When I had others come to look at the system they did not find the same and when I related them to them they said that wasn't true without saying who said it. They ran the same test and showed me the numbers did not match what was said. So anyway, I don't know for sure anything nefarious was going on so I will just leave a three but I was not impressed and will not call back.

They came out during the 2 hour window they had provided, prepared to do the work.  The agreed amount was $40 to do the tuneup to the system which involved checking everything to see if it was functioning correctly.  In addition, we knew that a capacitor needed replacing and wanted a price to replace it.   They informed me that the cost to replace the capacitor would be about $240 (above and beyond the $40.)   They described what they needed to do and walked out to get the part.  At that point I looked up the part on my phone and found that the retail price was about $25 and asked them why it was being marked up so much.  They told me that the price was the markup on the part and the labor.   Given that the labor to replace the part itself would only have been 5 minutes, I felt that $225 was exceptionally high for what they were going to do.  Then it was explained to me that part of the $225 was in checking the system afterwards to make sure that nothing else was wrong and I asked whether this would be part of the tuneup of the system.

At this point I rejected the capacitor and let them know to just finish the tuneup and I would pay them the $40.  At that point they started doing this but then said that they really couldn't do the tuneup without the capacitor installed.  As they had done quite a bit, I still offered to pay the $40 but they rejected this.  At this point they put everything back in place, made sure the air conditioner ran as it did before, and even tightened up a couple of bolts that were loose to eliminate sound.

I then went to an air conditioner parts store, bought the correct capacitor for $17 and with a friend's help (with a lot more experience), replaced it in about 5 minutes.

I assure you though that ours pricing is right in line with all the other HVAC service providers here in the valley. I know from a consumer stand point the job in question doesn't seem like much more than a $25 part and 30 or so minutes of labor. But I assure you there's much more involved in pricing than just the obvious part and labor costs. There are many cost of business expenses that the average consumer is not aware of. For example...We have vehicle expenses (gas, insurance, the vehicle it's self, etc.), business expenses (rent, insurance, licensing, taxes, etc.), employee expenses (training and certification, insurances, wages, etc.) and of course the part its self (with warranty). So as you see, there are many other variables that go into pricing and I sure hope that this brief explanation helps bring light to why things cost what they do. Again, we apologize for this confusion and I sure hope that you'll keep One Hour Heating & Air in mind for your heating and cooling needs."
