Long Construction

Matt, the owner, and his employees did a great job!  We converted our existing garage into a bedroom, two bathrooms and a utility room.  We also added on a new family room and garage.  Since part of the job entailed working around an existing structure and we were working with a budget, we had to find ways to work around problems without spending too much money.  The draftsman made some measurement errors which means the plans were off.  Matt had lots of suggestions on ways to work around the problems we encountered.  We had originally planned to tear off more of the old roof but Matt pointed out that it would interfere with our patio roof.  We didn't want to have to redo that roof so he came up with an excellent alternative.  Some of the existing walls weren't square.  He showed how they could adjust for that since we didn't have lots of money to just tear things out.  The trusses were off, what a nightmare!  He knew how to make them work anyway.  Matt always came when he said he would.  He's very knowledgeable.  He was extremely fair about extra charges for changes we made during the process.  I really appreciated how he would ask what we wanted whenever something came up instead of just doing something.  A lot of people in construction don't take the time to ask your opinion.  He really wants you to be happy with what he does.  We were not able to match the siding on our house.  We got something similar and he was able to trim the new siding to make it look like it matched the old siding.  He went by the lumberyard sometimes on his way here so I didn't have to pay a delivery fee when we only needed a little of something.  He's very ethical and on top of everything else, he's a really nice guy!
