The car had an issue with the radiator coolant when we got it about three years ago. Coolant was "cooked" all over the radiator hose and a bit of the engine. However, we could see no active leak nor did the radiator ever loose coolant. After driving it for over a year with no problem, we finally to it in to Bronco Motors and had them check it out. They recommended replacing a radiator hose. Since that repair, we didn't see an issue until about 3 months ago. Then, we started to see evidence of the "cooked" coolant building up on the hose again. Then, last week during a hot spell, the radiator did lose coolant and the temperature gauge indicated overheating. We added coolant and watched it, and it didn't seem to have any significant problem. But you could tell there was a slight leak that was hitting the fan blades and spashing on the radiator and engine. It wasn't enough you could see it, but it was there. There was never a puddle under the car. Bronco Motors theorized that the sticky thermostat caused the pressure to build and the coolant was blown out while the car was traveling down the highway. Interestingly enough, the first thing we noticed was the air conditioner wasn't working well. We felt that long before we noticed the temperature gauge. Anyway, it was enough to cause us to make an appointment.
The appointment went well enough today. Of course, you're never sure you are getting the straight scoop nowadays, but they seemed honest enough. I had a slight feeling that they may have exaggerated the problem just a bit. Since this was the dealership, I expected to pay a premium on parts and labor. I wasn't "disappointed". Checking the prices against the O'Reilly parts store, you can see that the prices were about 75-100% higher than we could have bought them there. For example, the same therostat we paid $22 for goes for $13 at the parts store. The radiator we paid $187 was about $120. However, few dealers will allow you to bring in your own parts, and we didn't have any better way of getting it done in a reasonable amount of time. I originally was going to wait for the service, but decided against that. They said it would be ready in about three hours. It ended up being about seven hours total.
At around the five hour point, I tried to call to get an ETA. I had Don's cell phone, but no answer. I call the service desk, and no answer. So we just went down and waited the last couple of hours. When we did pick up the car, they were friendly and explained everything.
It looks like a great job -- time will tell. They cleaned the engine and engine compartment so it looks like new. Overall, an "as expected" to slightly better than expected experience.

The sales staff was very cooperative, courteous, and professional. Didn't spend a lot ot time trying to convince us this was the car we wanted, but let the test drive speak for itself. Allowed us to ask all questions we could come up with and answered them completely. Didn't try to sell us a lot of optional equipment, but did inform us of options available. The price they gave us was the price advertised.
