They did a great job, very fast and efficient. They were very clean. The owner came out personally and did the estimate. There was no mess at all.

They were fine. They did a good job and they got it done in a timely manner. They cleaned up after themselves. I was satisfied. They were not cheap but I think they were well recommended and they did a good job.

The entire process went well. They found and repaired underlayment problems and built up some trim areas to give a nice, level appearance when finished. The crew was friendly and considerate and did a thorough clean up before leaving. Couldn't be happier with the outcome.

I needed to re-roof my house *quickly* when I discovered that some 'critters' had dug holes through my existing roof. I solicited bids from a number of roofing companies. Ludwig provided an extensive list of references with their bid, which was in line with what I was able to find out about Ludwig's from Angie's, the BBB, and the recommendation from a neighbor.
I also liked the fact that Ludwig hand nails the shingles; maybe that really isn't all that important in this day and age, but I used to live in suburbia and have seen too many new homes lose shingles when it gets windy.
I also checked out the shingles Ludwig bid, and found that Consumer Reports gave them their top rating.
My decision came down to top-notch materials + top-notch install practices + a price equivalent to the other bids I got = someone that I wanted to do my roof.
Install went well - I have no complaints and no regrets. Roof looks great. Crew was prompt, polite, hard-working, and left everything in great shape.

Excellent experience. Rick Ludwig was very quick with estimate, explanation of work and completion. Appreciated that he had samples of shingles and climbed up on roof and placed shingles to show how they would look. Also appreciated that he provides proof of insurance and letters of recommendations upfront. The crew was very cheerful and professional. The work was completed quickly (1 day) and the yard was spotless. Very nice attention to detail, painted metal chimney and pipes and removed and replaced several items (satellite dish) that were on top of shingles.The price was in the ball park of two other estimates. Very positive experience.

I received several quotes from several companies, but I ultimately decided on Ludwig Roofing for several reasons:
The first thing I did before receiving quotes was contact the roofing supplier in Des Moines and ask for recommendations from the supply company. The supplier recommended 3-4 companies and Ludwig was one that he mentioned because Ludwig has been roofing in Des Moines for a long time. Ludwig was also highly recommended on BBB and Angie's List. Every company that I get a quote from must have a decent review on BBB and Angie's List.
After receiving the quote, Ludwig was right in the middle of all the others. Having an uncle that is a roofer in another city, I knew about what my roof should cost, and Ludwig gave me exactly what I thought it would be. Im not the type of person that is going to accept the cheapest quote and I am definitely not going to accept the most expensive. I like the middle and thats what Ludwig gave me.
One thing that was another concern for me was the satellite that I had on my roof. With no extra charge, Ludwig had a satellite guy come reinstall and realign my dish after the new roof was put on. Ludwig even came out one week later to make sure the satellite was properly screwed in and waterproofed so that I would have no leaks from the satellite installation.
All-in-all, I had an excellent experience with Ludwig roofing, and I would recommend them to anyone looking for a new roof. My two-story house took one day for them to finish.

Rick Ludwig came out and gave me a bid right away. He was one of the few bids I received that included proof of insurance, references and a sample of the siding selection.The work was done on time and done well. They added roof fents, ice guards and all the workers were "local" residents. They were very friendly and picked up after themselves.Very easy to work with and professional at all times. A+

I found Ludwig Roofing on Angies List. He was more expensive than other roofers, but decided to go with him because of the referrals and to my knowledge he did a good job.

They did a great job. They came when they said they would and it cost what they said it would. There were like six guys on the roof all the time. Another guy ran around cleaning up and he was the runner to go get supplies. They cleaned up well and protected the shrubs. They called back to see if we were happy.

Very prompt in getting estimate completed. Arrived when promised, very short time to complete. Worked very efficient.

Quick response on request for estimate. Bid was one of the lowest. Shingle selection was very good. Crew did an excellent job and completed the job in about 10 hours. Everything was cleaned up and hauled away.

Got estimate on 7/20 and work was started and done on 9/4. Job was $300.00 more than estimate, due to boards having to be replaced in a few places. I check a few names on the many pages of references and they had nothing but good to say about the work and the swiftness of job. I couldn't believe that they did everything in one day and since they cleaned up, I have found only one roofing nail. When I called Rick to get on the list for work to be done, Rick said I was on the list and it would be about 3-4 weeks. That told me that they are as busy as I figured they would be.
