WOW what a refreshing encounter!
Here's my story......
While traveling home with my girlfriend and 3 dogs from a Colorado Christmas my SUV started making a loud grinding noise. Being a Sunday We pressed on hoping to make it home but it after 300 additional mile it became apparent that we had run out of luck, or so we thought! As luck would have it we had to exit in West Branch Iowa that offered a McDonalds, Gas Station, a hotel, and across the street an automotive repair shop so we pulled in. The shop was closed and this is where the luck shows up, or more correctly Keith Noel shows up in his pick up to attend to some after business details. I explained our situation being so far from home and having the 3 dogs with us and he explained that he could do nothing for us that day since he had other plans that he could not change. He then told us that the hotel across the street was dog friendly and if I could bring the SUV in at 7:30 the next morning he would take a look and try to get us on our way as early as possible. After a much needed nights sleep I showed up at 7:30 and right behind me pulled in Keith. He opened up his shop and had me pull in and very quickly diagnosed that the front right wheel bearing had failed. He dialed a small local parts shop while telling me that if its not local we will have to wait until 9am to call part shop in Iowa City. Again what great luck the local shop had the part he needed. As he was on the phone his first employee walked in and he told him to go retrieve the part while he started disassembling my SUV. He invited me to stay but being in the machinery service business myself I know how working and keeping up the small talk can slow things down so I got out of his way and went back to the hotel. At 8:51am Keith calls and lets me know that the SUV is fixed and even offered to pick me up! I'm certain that if I had broken down in a large city and went to a dealer I would have spent another day stranded. I can't express how much we appreciated Keith's compassion to help a stranded motorist and squeeze us into his already filled schedule.

While traveling in Iowa for a college visit, we began having car trouble. Not being from the area we had no idea who to call and on a Saturday morning we thought choices would be slim. With luck we found Noel Automotive. I called and explained the issue we were having. Keith explained he could replace the battery, but if it was something else the only parts store in their town was closed on Saturday. He came out replaced the battery and discovered the alternator needed to be replaced. After speaking to Keith , he asked if we wanted to follow him to Iowa City, (he was planning on going there for another reason) he could get the part at a parts store there and change the alternator for us in the parking lot! We were thunderstruck, you don't usually see this kind of helpfulness these days.

I would highly recommend Noel Automotive to everyone, very professional and willing to go above and beyond to help people. We left to come home, missing the visit, but knowing if our son chooses to attend college in Iowa, we know we have a reliable business to call should he need any repairs.

He is very thorough, careful, and polite. Price is fair. We have been going to him for at least 10 years.
