Contracted to do the above which he completed. Also contracted to remove bush and a stump. Said he would be over on the weekend to finish. This was on 7/3 and I paid him. He said he needed to pay his crew. Boy was I hood winked. What business does not have money in reserve to pay his employees? It is now 7/25. Called 3 times and left a detailed message no call back. Last night called using another phone number and talked to Tom. He promised he would be over that night 7/24 to finish the contract. As of this writing work not completed. So sad. This gives ALL contractors a bad rep. I was very patient and trusting. Never again.

Tom removed the trees in two days in an efficient manner. However, no consideration was given to the damage he did to my front yard. While he was quickly disposed of the trees his method of cutting the tree down and letting the large pieces fall to the ground without consideration of the damage they were d*** to my lawn did irritate me. I would recommend Tom' if this factor is not a consideration. In addition Tom told me he would be back in a few days to fill the holes in a few days however after waiting a week I did the job myself.

Tom was promote to respond. He identified the trees in the yard they we had been unable to identify. This is an older house and yard has been neglected for years; we purchased it knowing the yard needed lots of TLC.. He and his crew had a challenge with several trees which were growing through the cyclone fence around the yard. What we thought was nasty overgrown mulberry tree turned out to be three nasty mulberry trees which had grown into and around the fence and a section of the fence had to be removed. Tom arranged to have a section of fence rewoven in that spot. They cut down all of volunteer trees in the yard, fighting with the fence in a couple of places. They cut down three overgrown non producing lilac bushes. They trimmed out dead wood from a chestnut, a maple, a plum tree, and two red bud trees, and reshaped them. He even cut back a rose bush that was rambling out of control. The hauled away all the debris. They raked up the yard. They returned the next day to grind out the stumps from the various trees and bushes. The work was done quickly and cleanly. Tom did a few extra things like cutting down and coiling the old cable lines that ran from the pole in the alley through the volunteer trees to the house, but which were cut off at the box on house. He also put a stabilizing clamp on the power line mast on house just because it needed it and they could reach that spot with their ladders. He also made recommendation about further care of the trees.
I would recommend to anyone in the Quad Cities that needs tree work done: Call Tom first.

After a severe storm passed through the area, there was some downed and damaged limbs on one of our large trees. Some of the damaged limbs were too high for a simple ladder. I called this service because of the rating here on Angie's List. Spoke with the owner, and he came that day to give an estimate. As we were assessing the damage, I mentioned that I had another undamaged tree that needed to be trimmed. He said they could do that tree as well and gave me a price. We agreed on a Friday appointment, however, I got a call from him on Thursday saying that his schedule had changed and he would be able to do the work Thursday instead of Friday if that was convenient for me. . The work was very professionally done. He even contacted my neighbor to obtain permission to drive the cherry picker through his yard. The job was done as expected, and the area was cleaned up upon completion. He also pointed out some ant concerns with one of my big trees and suggested ways to eliminate them. Professional, but still personal service. Would recommend this company.

We had two trees that had broken and partially fallen into other trees in a wooded area next to the house and threatened to break loose one day and crash into the house. Also there were a very tall locust that was dying; a mulberry that had split in a previous storm; and a wild mulberry that was overgrowing a pair of specimen trees. We asked Tom's Tree Company (how his card reads) to give us an estimate. We had waited months for other tree services and were quite pleased that Tom came in two days to give us the estimate and returned within a week to do the work. They brought sufficient workers equipment to handle the job including a bucket truck, a large dump truck to haul away the debris, and a grapple to load even the biggest logs into the trucks. The work took less than one day.
There were only two small complaints: The bucket truck cracked a number of flagstones in the area where they were working and they didn't completely clean up some of the smaller branches dropped into the wooded area. But all and all I would recommend this company and will probably call them again if we need more trees trimmed or removed.

They're efficient, not very expensive, and they clean up, well. It's been a good experience. I give them the highest ratings and would use them again in the future.
